  • I will call you squishy and you will be mine. <3

  • I wanna poke it.

  • I did not know what these were when I swam.. my friend got stung, but thankfully it was mild

  • i live in portugal and i got stung and that hurts like shit i have a scar :( PORTUGAL ftw

  • You can touch the bubble part.

  • It looks like something that got stuck on he vacuum cleaner

  • youtube is for vids not for diashows

  • These aren't even that dangerous, I have been stung by them a few times. These are really common in Australia, and I know heaps of people that have been stung. It just hurts for an hour and then leaves a red mark for a few days. I even had a friend who got the stinger wrapped around his face, and he was fine. Most people in Australia who go to the beach have been stung at least once. They are only dangerous if you are very alergic to them, which is pretty rare.

  • it reminds me of a water balloon

  • dont get stung

  • what exactly are man o wars? :/

  • Oh cool! what is that blue purplish balloon thing? I'm gonna go pick it up =D

  • The Man of war is under the the Cnidarian because of the special stinging cells they have. it is actually a whole colony of creatures, not just one. it begins in the hydra stage. Sorry we are studying these in Marine Bio.

  • wat king of jellyfish is that

  • really helpgull for school!!! LOL i was kidding, i GOT A D

  • really helpgull for school!!!

  • I got stung by one of those and had to go 2 the doctor

  • @peanutpiebacon well you would die xD thank God ur alive

  • That sucka is rocking a full MOHAWK

  • @ReleaseMyBalls shush troll, reading about them for a high school research paper (something i did) counts as studying them, you don't have to be a marine biologist with a college degree to do it, just go to a library, plus he never said anything about them being jellies, and before you say anything yes i know that the man-of-war is a planktonic colony of 3 different tyes of organisms

  • man of war is actually a colony of polyps that have grouped together so its multiple organisms

  • lol, a small box jelly will take out that bloke in seconds

  • well..intence colors may seem nice to people but for the nature it's danger!

  • im studying them

  • Portugese Man of War.

  • coolest looking things I've ever seen

  • Potent venom, tentacles that can reach up to 40 ft. long, camoflauge, durability to survive in most climates and beaches, and the ability to travel long distances on open sea.

Have fun with your nightmare fuel! :D

  • thats a blue bottle you moron

  • @nathanbmx4life2

Same thing, in Australia they're called bluebottles

  • Man o wars ARE NOT JELLYFISH

  • @oldecoachmacrae really?

  • @oldecoachmacrae that's partially correct. Yes, they are a type of fish, but no, they're actually warm blooded.

  • @oldecoachmacrae yea they are wat do u think they are floating toys

  • @oldecoachmacrae and jellies are not fish

  • Irukandji jellyfish are nasty little buggers too. Yow-ch! : /

  • these are all over the coast of florida pain in the ass if you ask me

  • im so happy i clicked on a "video" of still pictures

  • thats a bluebottle u tools, no u wont die, put some vinegar on it and it will stop hurting, very common in australia

  • these things are so deadly, even when there dead you can get stung.... Nature can be scary....

  • I know the tentacles can inflict a painful sting, but is that the only part of one that has the stinging cells? Could you pick it up by its inflated portion without being stung?

  • @SphinctersForever Picking up a poisonous animal out of the water is a very bad idea but the tops don't sting you.

Tho I recommend thinking about it like a snake.

The snakes tail doesn't bite you but that doesn't mean its a good idea to grab it by the tail and pick it up unless your professionally trained and know what your doing because you could accidentally hurt yourself or the animal.

  • the iridescent colors are pretty

  • it's beautiful, but does anyone know why it's called the man o' war jellyfish? O.o

  • @IamMiaow Yes it's called the "Portuguese man O' war" because it's shape resembles the shape of portuguese soldier's helmets in the past (hundreds of years ago when wooden ships were first navigating the seas) They are actually shaped alot like the old Spanish soldier's helmets too...

  • these can kill you in 90 seconds if your stung

  • @MrDanielking25 No.

  • @MrDanielking25 To put it simply, the answer would be no, probably unless you're a baby. The chironex fleckeri, scientific name for the most lethal jellyfish in the world, can kill you around three minutes, so 1 1/2 for something not as bad wouldn't make sense.

  • @minamu8 How recently has that information, about the Sea Wasp being the most deadly jellyfish, been confirmed? I know traditionally, that has been the claim, but, I believe that the smaller box jelly, "Irukandji", is considerably more deadly. However it is quite tiny and not nearly as prolific, so not as many human deaths. But someone with a strong reaction to an Irukandji sting would be extremely lucky to get out of the water before succombing to the effects of the venom toxicity.

  • @minamu8 i thought irukandji was the most lethal

  • its actualy also a fish that looklikes a jellyfish

  • fucking disgusting things

  • Comment removed

  • It's a headcrab!

  • it look like a floating condom

  • Wow I live in FL and see them all the time, knew the name, never knew they weren't jellyfish, Thanks for sharing your knowledge. That is interesting. Ha I liked the comments more than the video.

  • The title couldn't be more wrong. A Man O' War is NOT a jellyfish, as it is a collective group of organisms living together; and secondly, it's hardly VERY DANGEROUS. I'd call the Irukandji jelly, or Chironex Fleckeri Box Jelly VERY DANGEROUS, but this one just produces a potent sting. I've been stung on my arm by about 2 feet of tentacle, and while it's very painful, it's far form life threatening.

  • Fuck that I get stung all the time by them they are only dangerous if you are allergic.

  • Its head look like a ballon;what if we pop it?

  • there probably one of the most pimped up jellyfish out there, except for the ones that light up

  • when I was about 8, I saw this really pretty blue thing on the beach in Miami...I picked it up, and it stung me...the lifeguard on duty immediately dunked my hand in 100% chlorine to get it off of me....It was a "Man O'war"...I don't think they are pretty anymore...LOL

  • for people asking questions, they are not jellyfish they are Siphonophorae. A man o war is a colony of polyps. Meaning they are many organisms not 1 organism like a jelly fish. Its almost the same thing as coral. Coral isnt one organism its many organisms living together. Except instead of forming as coral they band to form as a man o war. It sound confusing, but like another comment said they cant move, they rely on current to move them. Jellies can move on THIER OWN. THESE ANIMALS cant

  • i can think of lots of fun things....and this is the complete opposite

  • not a fan of these fuckers !!! funny watching stupid fat germans getting stung by them tho even knowing there is a big flag flying on the beach saying danger jelly fish

  • i grew up on the beach and these guys hurt sooo bad lol but theyre cool!

  • they look cool but they are total bitches

  • those things hurt like crap!

    !

  • so sick.

  • i wonder what would happen if you poked a hole in it... /:

  • there not jelly fish stupid

  • this looks like something straight out of avatar! amazing

  • my friend got stung by a man o war

  • Dangerous?

I thought something had to be life-threatening to be dangerous.

Those little turds just hurt like a bitch.

I've been stung by them tons of times and I'm still alive.

  • @DamagedF0X I'd like to see you get stung by a box jelly fish and walk away with a limp...

  • @xBlooWahFullx Yeah yeah yeah. We all know about the box jelly.

Even though the irukandji takes the record for strongest venom.

But that's beside the point. This is not a box jelly.

  • wow beatiful but is this real? why is it shaped like that?

  • @JesusGodHolySpirit3 Thats Just how they are made, they use that big balloon thing so that the wind pushes it around, and yes, its real.

  • Im scared of them D: But ive never seen one in real life tho ;3

  • Man of Wars are not jellyfish, I think.

  • Why do they have to be so beutiful but so dangerous?

  • looks like a raft! come on children one at a time

  • Sweet mohawk, bro.

  • thats one nasty mother fucker..........

  • @theCODFAN34 agreed jellyfish contain jelly

  • Ew... yet cool

  • How do they get those pictures?! 0_0

  • Don't you ever wonder whats INSIDE a jelly fish?

  • @Icey314 Probably jelly ;)

  • Got stung by one in the ocean in Bermuda when I was 9. Huge half dollar size welts all over my hands. Hurt like a son of a bitch!!! They had an ambulance on the beach just waiting for people who got stung. A guy riding in the ambulance with my got stung on his feet. He was freaking out.

  • @lillith725 Just got back from Bermuda and was at Church bay when a little girl got stung. Poor girl was screaming for her life, those things are nasty.

  • Got stung by one in the ocean in Bermuda when I was 9. Huge half dollar size welts all over my hands. Hurt like a son of a bitch!!!

  • In a way I love them but then in another way I want to kill them ;)

  • @AlxMar5 is right, it is really just a community of bacteria showing teamwork ;)

  • It's not really a jellyfish, but looks kind of similar. You can't treat their stings with vinegar though.

  • when i was a kid i saw one washed up on the beach i was around 5 and was poking it with a stick back then i thought jelly fish would electricate you lulz

  • @guitarplayer432167 indeed! Isn't it fascinating how such a group of organisms can form one creature?

  • Come to think... Man O' Wars are not jellyfish..

  • why are evil things so nice? shit

  • Tee-hee. It looks like a Gaint blue Orange! I am going to poke it when i see one!! >:3

  • I want to punch a hole.

  • looks like an inflated condom....still nice

  • i want to popit like a balloon

i hate jelly fish with a passion i got stung by a big ass one while surfing at virginia beech

  • @WR3CKDGAMiNG When was that? I just came back from VA Beach last week and all I saw were harmless moon jellies.

  • @AlxMar5 in the middle of july to the middle of august there were som big surfing comps and igot stung by a jelly fish bout 2 feet wide and its tenticls spread bout five feet or so but it wsnt a man o war cuz if it were id be dead

  • @WR3CKDGAMiNG Yeah I hear that's jellyfish season around there. I don't even know if they get man o wars there but I don't think they're usually deadly anyway. Glad you made it in one piece at least. I might be going back next month so now I have something to look forward to I guess..... -_-

  • it looks like a spartan helmet

  • just a bluebottle with a mohawk

  • pop it

  • looks like plastic

  • What they do is not even half about what we do against animals.

  • just for curiosity, this is not a jellyfish, its actually a colony of polyps(animals such as anemones), lots of animals living as one.

  • @guitarplayer432167 Finally, someone who also knows what a man o' war is ^^

  • @guitarplayer432167

    Not quite

It is a siphonophore, a type of sea fir and has no direct relation to anenomes

Think of it as bladderack and stinging nettles having a kid or something

  • i got stung once...feels like getting whipped by metal/knife repeatedly and it doesnt go away....

  • These things do hurt I know from experience they are called bluebottles in Australia, btw these things are like pussy cats compared to other Jelly fish there.

  • I got stung by one of these in the Florida Keys a few years ago .It stung me on both arms, both legs stomach and my back .The Capitan of the boat we were on poured vinigar on me and pulled the tentacals off me with some needle nose plyers . I took a swig of Robotusin they offered me afterwards. It felt like cigarett burns is the only thing I can compare the pain to, but the pain didn't seem to last that long .After a couple of hours I was fine .....

  • Never going swimmin' at a Beach ever again.

  • Nice quality pictures, what camera were you using if you don't mind me asking?

  • I have been stung by a man of war worst pan of my entire life. was in the hospital for nearly 2 days

  • looks like a rubber toy DX

  • this "jellyfish" is actually not even a jellyfish at all but many different organisms that came together to make a jellyfish looking creature but they are kewl in every way

  • @Jettking12

I was about to say that... lol

  • its a blue bottle

  • i shit my pants when i see a jelifish in the see 0o i prefer encountering a freaking white shark.brrr

  • they're like flys here in australia, hole beeches full of them sometimes

  • At first when I saw it on the beach in Florida, I thought it was a balloon so I almost stepped on it but saw it move so....

  • I fucking hate those damn things ive got terrible scars now :(

  • My sister and I found two huge ones on the shore in the Florida keys, keylargo

  • .... pop it.

  • @Kawiia17 actually my friend did just that. it was so cool, blue gunk flew everywhere. lol. Dont worry, It was a dead one folks.

  • @jessy1125

And? Stomping on one can release a neurotoxin that can cause intense pain or even death. It will paralyze you or even paralyze your heart or lungs... yes.. even if dead.

  • Comment removed

  • @verzen he didn't stomp it, he threw a gigantic rock at it from a distance and then it went "Pop!" then blue Spurt came flying out of it. (:

  • @jessy1125

Good because the nematocysts release a powerful neurotoxin. Very dangerous stuff.

  • i would love to see one of these so so much!!

  • the Woman o Love, the natural predator and enemy of the Man o War.

  • it´s tentacles can grow to 50 meters...

  • ewww doesnt look natural lol

  • ... I want to pop it.

  • This is very, very, very, very, very amazing and beautiful!

  • I saw this jelly fish in seaside at flordia

  • looks like pork fried dumpring

  • @DarkSkyVideo yeah beautiful and amazing but also very creepy and scary :-o

  • @DarkSkyVideo lol

  • @DarkSkyVideo its an ugly blob of a jellyfish

  • @misterniceguy1111 it's not ugly at all! :)

  • you would have to get stung by soooo many for them to be dangerous!

it just hurts a little bit then the sting gets sooper itchhyyyy

  • It's not a jellyfish. Nice try.

  • how does this freaking thing sting me? i saw tons of these on the beach today!

  • someone lost her hat?

  • it's not a jellyfish! it's a colony of microorganisms of the sea!

  • Kill it with fire!!!!

  • isnt it suprising that something so beautiful can be so deadly.

  • lol isnt that what killed will smith in that one movie where he donated all of his body parts to ppl who deserved it. i forget what the movie is called, but when he killed himself he dumped that jellyfish in the bathtub with him so he killed himself

  • Chuck Norris can pick this up with his bare hands and never get stung........

  • this is a blue bottle jellyfish not a man o war

  • @josemanuelraul there the same thing.

  • @buckweetable sorry my bad

  • @josemanuelraul don't be sorry lol =D

  • It's pretty :)

  • This one wishes to cause you harm.

  • It looks like a dumpling. Fry it.
