I don't have an iphone and from what he said, i understand what he is saying. I went to the store to check it out. It needs work, especially with the touch screen. It was acting all crazy and the menu was complicated. But I would get it but not with out the 2 year upgrade. Not worth 300 dollars. WE NEED IPHONE VERIZON!
This is easily the worst review on Youtube. Next time, attempt to point out the phone's positives, instead of comparing it to every phone on the market.
I came on Youtube looking for an honest review of the phone, and all I got from this video is that Android doesn't have as many Apps as the iPhone, the Droid's keyboard pales in comparison to Blackberry's and the media player is not as good as on the iPhone.
It's nice to know that it's a touchscreen device. Because we all didn't know that.
WHY? The iPhone has been out longer than the Droid and Android. THAT'S WHY IT HAS MORE APPS. And that Blackberry Trackball thing that's missing? MOTOROLA IS NOT BLACKBERRY. WHY WOULD IT HAVE IT ON THERE.
Also, the Droid is open source, which means it is fully customizable, and WILL get a pinch zoom, if not from Motorola, from an independent developer. Overall, a very poor review.
well sure, it has been longer but that doesn't change the fact for someone that wants to buy a phone "now".
This "customization" you are talking of is the reason why the iPod is successful and so is the iPhone. Users don't want to customize anything. They want something that is "easy" to use, with sensible defaults.
@asemh Android is taking over. Once people get used to it, the customization is an excellent feature. For Iphone, you use the phone the way apple wants you to. You dont speak for everyone, if users dont want to customize anything then I dont think android phones would be as successful as they are now. I love customization, and im sure all those people who have droids do too
Yeah, fsck iTunes! And the comparison regarding the quantity of apps on each platform is disingenuous. It's already been said, but most of them are lousy to worthless with a few diamonds in the rough. It'll be like that for any app store, sans the incomprehensible approval process via Apple. He does have a point about the app removable user interface usability aspect. Android really has a lot to learn in that department. To be fair, though, it's easier to use the Market to uninstall stuff.
Talk about dicking on the iPhone. Apple is a huge music service, of course they are going to have a better music app. 100k apps, how long has it been out, 2 1/2 years. Hope there are more apps and apple was the first to really push apps. Android is not a gaming platform and not trying to be. This guy makes dumb points that have nothing to do with the main purpose of the phone.
I just want a new phone and don't feel like going to AT&T. And now look, big red actually has a phone thats getting some buzz. I have an iPod Touch so I have the whole iPhone OS experience without the dealing with AT&T. Plus this is kick ass phone, specs, features of Android 2.0 and it looks cool. So this will be a good replacement to my LG Voyager and will still be accompanied by the best media device on the market (iPod Touch).
Good to see a nice "NO BS" review. I was kind of torn between buying one of these and switching networks or waiting until December to get another iPhone. (broke my last one) I would have had to pay a lot more on Verizon's network for the same features each month, and after watching this, i'm 100% decided on sticking with my iPhone.
Another moron comparing 100k apple apps to 10k android apps. 95% of apple app store is pure shit and everyone knows it. maybe 100 tops are worth anything.
Nice review, and honest. I think competition is fantastic, and if Droid gets better and better, the iPhone will as well. In the end, the consumer wins either way. If I was stuck on an Verizon contract, I would buy the Droid, as the best alternative available, but I don't see anything touching the iPhone for awhile yet. Maybe Droid 3.0?
Wow dude you are the first person that puts down the droid like you just did. Why I want 100000000 apps if after the first page its all bullshit apps.
please dont tlk crap about droid
