Infact i do as much coarse style fishing as carp fishing and spend more time walking and fishing than ever sitting in a bivvy, just because ive taken up carp fishing hehe doesnt mean my real passion has been forgotten, You sit there and think you know this and that but to me you are an idiot to assume simply because of a name lol John played fish funnier and longer in the old days than he does now, hes less patient now than back then. Hehe, I grow up watching John Wilson on VHS (anyone knows what VHS is or was? :p), I remember when as a kid i attached string to old fishing rod of my grandfather and i was sitting on my couch and play "John Wilson" :D ehhh, memories ;) Sorry for my poor english.
carpmagic,what are you on?he does'nt rip there heads out!pike naturally "tail walk"and will do it to try and shake the hook loose,he just raises his rod tip to encourage them.wilsons probablly one of the most recognised and respected anglers in the country,why dont you try something different instead of just sitting in your bivvy for hours waiting for a carp to bite.

Do you have any of his Tench fishing videos? I have a tape in England but didn't bring it with me to New Zealand. I miss these vids. they make me miss home, hehe.
hehe i have this video, the tench ones, carp, trout and chub ones. (Most are double with two species).. hehe they are so old i got them as a kid and im now 30!. John has well changed though from then till now to be honest, here you see he trys landing fish not to fast but fast enough. Now on tv he makes them jump by wrenching them, he says is he quite ready, is he is he, and wrenches the rod up hard as he can and says ha ha no he isnt. I preffered him in the old days myself.
