that place is awful. i wasted a year of my life there with a bunch of ignorant, self righteous assholes. especially the ones from steubenville. they think that working your ass of with little to no safety precautions will help you become a better person. sounds like some sound logic to me. the only positive outcome that came from me going here was a stronger work ethic. but everything else just made matters worse. and it gives a bad name to all christians.

a joke. The website is bullshit and I can tell you from experience and knowing dozens of boys that came through the ranch, that the majority of boys don't do well when they get out. The success rate is a joke. Figure out something else for your kid.

If any parents out there are ambivalent on whether or not to send your kids to this ranch, please don't. Sure some kids do well after leaving, but for how long? I went to this ranch and it did nothing for me except show me how close minded and ignorant people can be. I was on drugs before this ranch and then shortly after. Im sober now but with no thanks to this place. I was at Mount Carmel for a couple years and I can't tell you how much injustice I saw. And their academic "programs" are

@DjLuxorXradio Yeah, the difference between bootcamp and wilderness progams is that it was your choice to enlist. These kids get dragged off to a place that they don't want to be and arent able to leave until they accept dogmatic religious principles that might not make sense to them. I was at Mount Carmel for a couple years and it completely fucked with my mind. I was on drugs before this ranch and started doing drugs right after I left. I've been sober now for awhile with a twelve step

my name is jake i went there in 2007 and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. before going i was adicted to heroin for 3 years i had overdosed 4 or 5 times i would have died after 6 month i was a new man. jerry and some of the others saved my life

I went to a place like this snorted cocaine for the first time, saw incredibly violent things like someone being woke up by two locks inside of a sock. I also saw a 200 lb + man restrain and break a 14 year olds arm, I don't remember learning a whole lot except not to get in trouble with kids or staff and to keep my mouth shut while all sorts of awful things occur. And my parents cut somebody a check for this.These places CAN screw your kid up more, don't pretend it can't.Oh trust there's more!

Our Son went to Mount Carmel and was saved by the hard work, the outside nature, Gods help and the fine people Running Mount Carmel; He finished High School Diploma at Mount Carmel 1 year ahead of his suburban High School and started College 1/2 year earlier than his old school mates. I'm sorry if some people who've gone there feel like making uncharitable comments, but the sooner that they, and anyone else who has issues with earning a honest living by hard work, decide to face the reality of life, the better it'll be for them. I've spent the last two years at a military college and worked as a camp counselor over the summer; I still haven't seen a better place to prepare young men for the real world.

I personally know boys that Mt. Carmel helped and know that currently there are boys that are now serving in our military as well as going to college as a result of going to Mt. Carmel. When they got there they were flunking school, into drugs etc. If they can turn a boys life around from potential jail to the military or college....they must be doing something right.....

WOW! Mount Carmel Youth Ranch seems like such a wonderful program. If I had been able to go to a program like that when I was a teen I know I wouldn't have went through so much! I know I needed some guidance. I really hope they are able to help our young men of today who are tomorrows fathers.
