Lol I know this sounds kinda ass hole trol like but that machine you refer to as a bobcat is a skidsteer. Bobcat is a oompanie that makes them but that is some kind of companies I don't know. I live on a farm around big machines John Deere and caterpillar. I'm not making fun of you or anything I just love the things that like one person starts and then all of a sudden the skid steer isn't even referred to as a skidsteer any more they call it a bob cat lol. Not trying to be ass hole like
@MrJdsusername Hahah yeah we're all aware of that. Still call it a Bobcat because that was indeed a genuine Bobcat model 463, just like when I've worked on a site with multiple loaders we just called the Ford the Ford, not "the scraper loader."
u no the lay out on the 1:10 scale track can u guys put the fence a lil higher lol its kinda low when i jumped it almost went over the fence! but nice vid!
i made my own little small backyard track. it is some hard work, i had to dig all of my dirt out of the ground but good job on the track and video if you want to check out my track i have a basic version of it on my channel its now ALOT better
Veeery nice video Jang! Thanks! It really felt good to watch. We also have a small track over here ( muuuuuuch much smaller than yours ) and it is on a hill. So every time when it rains, the water makes ditches on it, which have to be filled each time. And before races there is even more work to do So I have a small ideea what the work on a track is about :)
Also in my hometown I have a field in a good area, where I would like to make an off road track. Some tips about designing the line?Cheers
@zagonielod Yeah man rain is always an issue. On this big track, Kevin has set up a network of pumps and we have channels and passageways to try to funnel all of the water into manageable areas. Since you're working on a hill, I'd really recommend building horizontal berms to work like troughs to help take the rain to the sides. Also give a diagonal angle to any jumps that face directly up or down the hill, to discourage pooling of water.
@bubu8947 The dirt on that track stays untreated these days. We just work with what we have. We need to keep it consistent all around, and t'd cost far too much to treat the 8,000 sq ft or so of land. We're able to do more with the smaller 1/10th scale track though.

Very cool and interesting video. I know what loads of work you had to do, because we rebuild our track this spring.
If I am in the states sometime again you can bet that I will visit you guys on your track.

Why do you hose the track? Does that help it compact?
Another great vid, thanks Jang.
nicksourceUK 1 year ago
@nicksourceUK Yep, helps it compact, so when it dries, it's hard.

Is there any additives add to the soil to make it firm up? Like a clay or is a premixed soil?
