Being a teacher, and an Obama supporter myself, I can almost see where she was trying to go with her lesson, but I think she lost it by getting tied up in partisan politics. Its great to show students how the system works and why people back one candidate over the other; however, you have to leave your personal opinion at the door. And, simply remember, when it comes to young kids and politics, it is a mere reflection of their parents' opinons.

It just goesa to showq the amount of power some teachers feel they have over their classrooms with a trapped audience of kids. These kids dont feel they can just disagree or walk out without being repremanded. the teacher states that shes allowed th kids their own choices and moved on. What I heard was far from just moving on, she challenged and berated the kids whom opted to say McCain. Isnt 18 the legal age to vote? so why is she involving 12-14 year olds in a political debate?

I liked Obama and McCain for certain reasons during the campaign. I also value healthy debate about politics, as it has changed my view on a lot of things when brought into perspective. This, however, is biased bullying based on hopeful change or promises given out by candidates. All they can be is talk, because they aren't in that position of power to show their worth through action. This is just pitiful that some of these kids seem more educated on this topic than she is.

Being a teacher, and an Obama supporter myself, I can almost see where she was trying to go with her lesson, but I think she lost it by getting tied up in partisan politics. Its great to show students how the system works and why people back one candidate over the other; however, you have to leave your personal opinion at the door. And, simply remember, when it comes to young kids and politics, it is a mere reflection of their parents' opinons.
