The oath, which is enshrined in the constitution, includes the phrase "...that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States." But Roberts rearranged the order of the words, not saying "faithfully" until after "president of the United States."

Pres. Obama gracefully gave Roberts the chance to correct himself by giving him a PAUSE GESTURE...Roberts was clueless!

They did both mess up, but Roberts more so, b/c he had a very long pause after saying Obama's full name, inviting Obama to repeat, THEN Roberts interrupts Obama (not the other way around), Roberts was NOT taking when Obama began saying his name. Roberts also said, "Office to the President" & not "Office of the President".

Actually, Roberts screwed up the oath. Obama probably had it memorized and roberts tripped him up. The actual oath according to the constitution says "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully discharge the office of the president of the united states and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the united states"
