Having driven trucks less than 10 years now, I never dove into the mystique of the 'big truck' Peterbilts and Kenworths. I loved them as a kid, but never had a chance to drive one. Well, I drove a Peterbilt 379 yesterday. Small. Cramped. The sleeper is like a tomb. Kudos to those that can live that way. I'll keep my Volvo. Pete's are beautiful, but I couldn't go there since driving Volvo. They're all just tools for the job in the end. To each their own. 10?

The last rig I drove before I retired was a '96 longnose Pete 379 with a 435 CAT and 13 speed and penthouse sleeper like the truck at 1:07 but it was a bright torch red red and pretty much stock trim. I was training a friend's son to drive. His dad had bought him the truck. It was very nice.

But to tell the truth, I enjoyed driving a Volvo, even though it only had a Detroit 425in it. But easy as a car. Other than that, I drove an International. Cummins 486, rough ride and heavy. Still, it didn't have as long a wheel base as some of these road hoags. Sometimes I think truckers spend too much in tricking their trucks, but everyone to their own. I would like to own a Cabover personally.
