@JaymezSPCM Lol I hate ricers.. but when my mom got her 1994 SL2 with the SOHC, I kinda started to like them. I hate all Hondas and Toyotas and etc though. The only 4 cylinder I will drive is a Saturn or a Ford. lol There's just something about the Saturns.. they sound muscular to me. haha

Anyway, my mom's is a maunal tranny, and when you're stopped, the rev limiter kicks in at about 4200. While driving, it doesn't do anything until 6300. I believe the redline on the gauge is at 6000.

@joebeckham Man, I spent some time building this thing after this vid. SL2/SC2/SW2 only came with DOHC. Rev limit it at 4500. SOHC pre-1998(IIRC) are on 85hp at the wheels. You can run them to 7k if you like, you're still in the powerband, and the car will take it all day long. Be wary of the transmission though. By time I was done with this one, it would smoke the tires down through 1st and 2nd, and chirp 3rd hard. I couldn't get faster than a 15.5s on the 1/4 mile because I spun.

@JaymezSPCM It's funny because sometimes when I'm driving with my mom in the passenger seat, I'll get on the freeway and shift at like 5200 and she'll FLIP out. haha it's so fun. And you know, that 85 hp sure feels like a lot. I accidentally raced a turbo'd Honda Civic and won. LOL that was the best night of my life. And I really need to get in there and weld the diff pin. I think that will be this winter's project in the auto shop.

@joebeckham Well, to be honest, I'm will to bet he was playing with you... as loud as Honda's are, you can never really tell if they are WOT or not. Turbo Honda's are pretty nasty, unfortunately.

@Thebigmac135 I blewn the tranny up last months. Never even got a video of the LATEST exhaust, which had a DC sports can-muffler, a glasspack, and 2.5" piping. Sounded so deep and aggressive, no rice at all.

hey nice sounding satty...any idea on how this setup might sound on a 99 SOHC...i got a Fireball 3 inch muffler connected to the stock exhaust pipe..it sounds pretty good..not farty or anything like most hondas i hear running around TX but im getting tired of it and want a new sound...idk if i wanna go with glasspacks or flowmaster...of course ill be getting new heads, cats, piping and all that shit

@Whiplash8807 Well, this exhaust setup is no longer on my car. This was nice, and still quiet-ish. I have since switched to 2.25" piping with a glasspack where the resonator was, and a DC Sports 2.5" muffler. It's a LOT louder, but deeper than this setup. No idea how it will sound on a SOHC, but it shouldn't sound too different. The headers make it loud as balls, and I plan on getting some for the time being, but I'll resell them next summer, since this particular Saturn is going turbo.

Lmao! i have a cherrybomb turbo 2 muffler that cost me $25 and im not ashamed of it! lol it sounds way deeper in real life. what kind of sound do you want and whats your price range? i can tell you want you will be happiest with if you can give me that info. :D

Get something similar to mine then. Cherrybomb Turbo 2, Thrush Turbo, or Thrush Welded, and put a resonated exhaust tip at the end to control the highpitched noises.

If you want to get even more creaive later, you can get a glasspack (thrush or cherrbomb) for about $20. Keep the muffler on to control volume, but put the glass pack where your resonator is (that round thing after your catalytic converter). and make sure the glasspack is 2'' in/out and 26'' long.

Yeah, Advance for either of the thrush mufflers, or Pep Boys for the Cherry Bomb. And get a good exhaust tip.

alright i got another question the exhaust is 1 3/4 stock and the thrush is 2 1/2 what do i do about that?

Lol, get a 2'' glasspack. And put it where your resonator is. If you want, you can still use the 2 1/4 glasspack, but you may need adapters. 2 1/4 is gnna sound a little deeper, IF you get 2 or 2 1/4 piping run from the pack to the NONstock muffler and a good tip. If you just run the glasspack though, witht he stock muffler, you basically end up in the same position you were in to begin with. Lol
