I noticed that after you added the black shadow with the dense shadow brush you switched brushes. Did you switch to a soft blending brush? This is right after you work on lining the lash lines.

@AnimatedBeauty Yes, I switched to a crease blending brush to soften the look. I can't lay down the color with the soft one and the dense brush doesn't blend as well so I always switch between the two! hope that helps;)

Urban Decay makes shadow primer potion which you use as a base to help the shadow last longer. It just depends on how your face holds makeup. My shadow migrates easily too so I just swipe a sponge underneath when it falls apart.

msjuli3to8, I don't really think very tan people will be able to go for the dark smokey look.... how about using the same technique, but by changing the silver with gold, and the black with a soft bronze.....

Add definition to your eyes by using a dark brown eyeliner instead of black....

You don't have to have specific products to achieve this look. All you need is ANY brand of metallic cream shadow, black shadow, black kohl pencil, mascara, light pink blush, and nude lipstick. The effect is achieved more through the application and types of brushes used than the cosmetics themselves.

Feline by MAC. I think they discontinued it, which really sucks because it was the blackest black I've ever used. I know you might be able to find it on EBAY. If you find it, buy it. It's worth it!

I use mostly Nars and MAC brushes. In this look though, that tapered blending brush I use, which really blends out beautifully is from Shu Uemura. It's a Kolinsky brush, kinda expensive but sooooo worth it!
