The Bible does not teach eternal punishment. God's love & mercy endures forever. Does it really endure forever or only in this life? How can it be Good News if it doesn't translate to the afterlife? He's a better Father than we are, right? He will still judge but He won't write people off forever.

I hope heaven is real. I am 11 and one year I got straight a's in school and got to go to a water park as a reward and that day someone died at the park. The actual cause of this dude's experience is a mix between a rise in CO2 in the bloodstream, drugs used in the medical process, and perhaps an overactive imagination. When your heart begins to fail, your body produces CO2 to counteract the loss of oxygen going to the brain. When this happens, your brain produces its own light, hence the white light (this same phenomenon happens with astronauts when going through gravity training).

And people feel so attached to this because these images are meant to stimulate a dying/damaged brain. CO2 is a drug.

I hope heaven is real. I am 11 and one year I got straight a's in school and got to go to a water park as a reward and that day someone died at the park. And ever since I've been thinking what happens. Because I love my family and never want to leave their side. And to me even if there isn't a heaven be a good person because maybe there is. Live a good life and in the end, it isn't the years in a life it's the life in the years.

I saw Science has a puzzle being put together, when some pieces didn't fit Scientist always tried to find that working piece of the puzzle. While Science uses facts to solve the puzzle religion well you know uses faith.

The Universe is obviously deteriorating (just look at our world with everything breaking down) so it is not Eternal. And if not Eternal, then how did it get here? I've done it to many priest and pastors. U wrote that Jesus & His apostles said to repent. Do you even know what the word means? It doesn't mean to ask for forgiveness. It means to change your thinking. But Paul doesn't say to repent because Jesus paid the sin debt on the cross. Check it out for yourself... :-)

U didn't catch what I wrote. Read it again. U said Jesus said to repent, yet Paul never did. Repentance doesn't get you saved. JESUS does, and DID. Plus, there is no hell. Jesus never even once uttered the word. He spoke of gehenna, the garbage dump. Interestingly enough, it doesn't burn forever, either. Its now a lush, green, grassy valley.
This bonehead in this video didn't go to some place the Catholic church made up. Any body with a non-religious mind knows that. :-)

This was before His own death/resurrection when there were 2 places separated by a huge chasm neither could cross. one was a paradise type, the other was a place of torment. "and in hell(hades-the place of departed souls) one of them was in torments of thirst & flame & begged for a drop of water. He couldn't get it, so he begged them to go back from the dead to warn his family (Luke16:22-30)

You are not automatically saved only because Jesus died for us - and it takes not only belief but turning from sin also. James wrote that even the devil believes, but he trembles. Don't listen ilikelazers. Being baptized does not save you..it is a profession of faith, showing everyone that you are not ashamed of Jesus Christ. So it is a great symbol and should be done. You do not have to be a member of a church to get to heaven. Doing a sin will not keep you from heaven as well because as long as you ask forgiveness, God wipes your slate clean and you start all over. The first one: you don't believe and He doesn't exist. You wouldn't know because there would be no way TO know. If heaven or hell doesn't exist then most likely there is no afterlife. 2nd is you don't believe and HE DOES exist. then yen and yang theory takes over and if there is a heaven then there MUST be a hell.

The point is that perhaps if you were in his place and had the same experience, then your opinion might be different. @thetexanfan I don't personally believe that God exists, but I am not adament in making others believe this. Even if I felt it was my duty to tell others that there was no God, this would make me no worse than religionists who feel they have a duty to spread their beliefs via missionary work. Also, I'll be the first to admit that I could be wrong, as I have been wrong before. A very important part of science is the willingness to consider that you could be mistaken.

The human brain is programmed by evolution to detect intelligence where there is none; it has great survival value to be highly paranoid and to think that things are caused by intelligent animals that can eat you, rather than natural phenomina.
