I love the way it ended, showing that "Jane" was not a real person and she is actually a living person. Being a magician and a mentalist i had already figured that out but the way Derren performed the whole thing was incredible. I have been using a ouija board for several years now. Fantastic! This show got more complaints than any other on the t.v before or sinse. I love how gullable people are, and the fact that called in to complain baffles me. If they do beleive in it, surely by showing how the girl "knew" jane's details only confirm this beleif. Some people are beyond me.
He has manipulated them and hypnotized them throughout the exercise so that they will react in this way. It's not because they are lesser people than you. Anyone except a trained psychologist or seance holder would be freaked out.
He's excellent at faking confusion and surprise. But bear in mind all these people were chosen to be particularly susceptible to this kind of suggestion (a fair few religious types, I noticed.) A roomful of hardhead atheist cynics aware of Derren's uncanny ability to mould people like clay might have produced a less interesting show.
He did do an instant conversion once where he took a group of atheists and instantly converted them to Christianity. Granted at the same time all the people he converted came there for a talk on spirituality which in and of itself makes it seem that they are insecure in their beliefs.
Also by no means do I believe that people who are susceptible to this kind of stuff are lesser than those who aren't. I was mainly confused why according to the description of the video did people call in mad?

What Derren does here in this seance is certainly extraordinary, but alot of physical mediums back in the victorian days did these seances in lit rooms with scientists watching their every move! Mediums like Daniel Home could levitate heavy tables and make instruments play tunes and he did this while being thoroughly examined. So Derren has demonstrated what the fraudulent mediums created back in the day, but many were genuine and never found out to be fakes!
I think it's just a little funny that no one caught "Jane's" last name as being "Dowie" pronounced like "Doe", as in "Jane Doe". Suggestability really gets people to overlook a lot...

I have been using a ouija board for several years now. It is one thing to use the mind to push a planchette around a wooden ouija board, but tell me how the room I was in became freezing cold on a sunny California day? So cold we could all see our breaths? I have no explanation for this. I would love to hear Browns reply or others replies to this. I can buy into tricks of the mind, but I cant envision the mind throwing someone across a room or the temperature changing drastically.

This has probably been mentioned in the comments already, but the thing about choosing a picture, moving left/right, etc is a classic trick whereby you always end up on the same picture, Jane in this case.

He did explain it all. He planted a seed and then their imagintation put together witht the state of fear he ut them in took over. The glass was probably on a string, remember its all a trick of the mind ;)

For example when the lady gets in the "cage", he hypnotize her when shaking her hand, and straight after he say "I want you to do this on your own". She`s hypnotized without even knowing it. Fantastic! This show got more complaints than any other on the t.v before or sinse. I love how gullable people are, and the fact that called in to complain baffles me. If they do beleive in it, surely by showing how the girl "knew" jane's details only confirm this beleif. Some people are beyond me.

He has manipulated them and hypnotized them throughout the exercise so that they will react in this way. It's not because they are lesser people than you. Anyone except a trained psychologist or seance holder would be freaked out.

He's excellent at faking confusion and surprise. But bear in mind all these people were chosen to be particularly susceptible to this kind of suggestion (a fair few religious types, I noticed.) A roomful of hardhead atheist cynics aware of Derren's uncanny ability to mould people like clay might have produced a less interesting show.

He did do an instant conversion once where he took a group of atheists and instantly converted them to Christianity. Granted at the same time all the people he converted came there for a talk on spirituality which in and of itself makes it seem that they are insecure in their beliefs.
Also by no means do I believe that people who are susceptible to this kind of stuff are lesser than those who aren't. I was mainly confused why according to the description of the video did people call in mad?

What Derren does here in this seance is certainly extraordinary, but alot of physical mediums back in the victorian days did these seances in lit rooms with scientists watching their every move! Mediums like Daniel Home could levitate heavy tables and make instruments play tunes and he did this while being thoroughly examined. So Derren has demonstrated what the fraudulent mediums created back in the day, but many were genuine and never found out to be fakes!
