  • @karaethonofficial btbam are also my favorite band, well its a tie with tdh. But if you watch the colors dvd, at the very end of the set, tdh start playing in the background. I thought that was pretty awesome!!

  • These guys are amazing!!!

  • Casey is just so fucking talented. He even made the video!

  • I'm going to see these guys tonight with White Denim and Manchester Orchestra! Cant wait!!

  • This sounds like between the buried and me in their soft/proggy sections

  • @anguskahn22 You're right actually, it does! BTBAM are my favourite band and I've been listening to The Dear Hunter for a quite a while now, but I'd not spotted that until you said it!

  • @KaraethonOfficial

I cant remember what the start of this song reminds me of, pretty sure its a section of misdirect or the new ep, but it heavily reminds me of them, even the vocal styles.

  • stupid advertisements !!

  • i saw them on G4 today, now i can't stop listening

  • need some free deer hunter albums! just dont wanna buy from Azon, senuTi, or sadRappy...

  • I love Caseys sound in this album when he yells, it has such a good sound to it. :D

  • Amazing Video :'}

  • Never purchase all of The Dear Hunter's albums in a single day. You're mind will explode!

I don't know what to do with myself.

  • My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy as suggestions? Fuck you, YouTube.

  • @adavis16ify MCR is complete shit. Fall Out Boy isn't all bad. They're a different genre as The Dear Hunter, so I do disagree with the suggestion.

  • I saw them at dredg last night. They played this song and it sounds so amazing live!

  • @jaymokrav I saw the same thing! So much more energy IRL....

  • They had a short set in Denver last night. Technical difficulties. Disappointing, but still amazing. Absolutely love this band.

  • Can't wait to see them with Dredg in 2 days!!

  • @OpokiejokeO How was it? I see them tomorrow in STL.

  • Nothing goes better with the dear hunter than honey bunches of oats and lawnmowers?

BLAC SANDY BEACES My FAV song.

    THNX for lovely vid♥

  • @sarasota75

Hey i'm seeing them May 15th in Pontiac, Michigan! Cannot wait :)

  • Does anyone find it weird that a vanessa hudgens gossip video is the first video in the suggestions? Well, the song is about a church thats also a whorehouse, so yeah, it kinda mixes up does it?

  • I'm so glad I get to see these guys tour with dredg. Two of my favorite bands together... it's gonna be epic!

  • This is the stuff dreams made of... and destroyed by.

  • compared to receiving ends of sirens.....merely so-so

  • dear hunter is great but i miss the days when casey was in the receiving end of sirens

  • Just wanna let you guys know,

"The dime" is the whorehouse where the "dear hunter"s mom worked.

It's also the place where, in the second album, the dear hunter falls in love with "Ms. Leading"

  • @SaotaTheSangheili Should probably also mention that "The Church and The Dime" aren't two different places, they're both one and the same.

  • That hollow body Telecaster is soo pimpin'! Can't wait for the color spectrum collection in June!

  • @dontmakemedothis1 They have AWESOME clean tones dude. They're incredible, I used to have one =).

  • I wish there could've been more Dear hunter music vids. Casey Crescenzo is my

hero....his beard is also soooo friggin heavy metal!.

  • Casey has some of the best vocals out there.

  • It makes me sad when people consider this progressive... Good music, don't get me wrong though, not progressive.

  • @ThorPlaysGuitar Do you know what progressive is?...

  • @ThorPlaysGuitar trust me, the dear hunter is one of the most prog bands out there today...go listen to all of Act 2, tell me it's not progressive.

  • @TtAbrams If by prog you mean INSANELY BRILLIANT IN PRETTY MUCH EVERY WAY. Then I agree

  • One of the greatest bands that I have accidentally come across...

  • first impressions: awesome songwriting, but being a guitar nerd I would have like a kick-ass solo at the end. That's just me though.

  • so, I think that this band is going to replace Coheed as my favorite band very soon... I saw them with the Heed and PT and met them afterwards. PT was uninspired and dissapointing at best (dont get me wrong, I like them, but they didnt do a very good job.) TDH did just as well as Heed.

  • Comment removed

  • First of all, I'm a giant Coheed fanboy so my opinion is going to be a little skewed. I have never listed to either Dear Hunter or Porcupine Tree in depth enough to know their material. My first impression of Dear Hunter was a pretty good one. I liked their set. I don't know what it was about Porcupine Tree, but after a while it seemed like all their songs were beginning to sound the same. I would have liked to see Dear Hunter play longer and Porcupine Tree play a little shorter.

  • @SteveoKnievo100 I couldn't have agreed with you more.

  • love love love the dear hunter. i've listened to them for awhile and did not imagine the lead singer to look like that! hah, oh well, such a great voice!

  • This is my favorite band. The really are the best band I've ever heard and i'm glad they're super underrated because they still can be as creative as they want to be. Fucking amazing

  • f5 skips ad

  • It's down right sickening that such an amazing band only has 49k views, it should have a million+ easy, a lot of other shit does, why not this.... like i said truly sickening

  • This is so underrated =/

  • iseen dem at prov dey were beasttt

  • I literally cried from the awesomeness of this band

  • Saw them last night <3 Fell in love with their music.

  • @AlexisKilgannon ill see them tomorrow, eh idk

  • @AlexisKilgannon When did you see them? I saw them opening for Coheed alongside Porcupine tree. They were amazing,,,but porcupine i hated. If you saw them with Circa survive and coheed il be pissed...cause i love circa...

  • @guitarplayr45 What are you talking about? Porcupine Tree is every bit as good as The Dear Hunter and Coheed!

  • @xxxMsLeadingxxx

I'd argue that it's Coheed and The Dear Hunter that must prove themselves to be good as Porcupine Tree since they're much more established in the prog community, but yeah all three bands are stellar. Circa Survive, on the other hand, isn't even in the same stratum as those bands...

  • @guitarplayr45 I saw them with Porcupine tree as well and it was horrible. I hated Porcupine tree, and I did see Circa Survive open for Coheed in Arizona and California. Followed them back to Cali :]

  • I had a headache before listening to them, and when I was done my headache was mysteriously gone...

The Dear Hunter healing powers ftw?

  • they kind of remind me of a mix between coheed and cambira and the doors. its preeeeeeeeeeeeetty good

  • LOVE this band!! (3

  • Best bands in existence? Dear Hunter, Coheed, Fair To Midland, 3. Enjoy.

  • @lotuswings thats 4 bands.... haha

  • @lotuswings coheed ftw

  • i wana learn how to the scream he does when he sings really high T_T

  • whoa... that chorus was just orgasmic to listen too

  • These guys get a big thumbs up from me, I hadn't heard of them until I saw that they're touring with Coheed and Cambria this year. Figured since I'm going to the Columbus show that I'd check them out. Glad I did, heres a new band to change the face of music.

  • Hmm so this is only the 2nd song ive heard of these guys... Im usually surfing youtube for Coheed and Cambria.... Three... Joey Eppard... The Mars Volta... Anyone able to suggest any other bands that sound like these guys????

This seems pretty awesome. :) XD

  • @kylejamescarr

There is no other band like The Dear Hunter. They are a one-of-a-kind. I want to say I'm sorry, but I'm really, REALLY not. =D

  • @PhishyGutz Lol there is some bands "somewhat" similar tho. :)

  • @kylejamescarr Circa Survive, The Fall of Troy, and Fair to Midland are similar.

  • @3vilKashew Ya thanks man. I dont care alot for Fall of Troy tho haha. I seen them live one time with Coheed and Cambria. Live they hurt the ears and arent very tight. But thanks alot dude ill check it out. Thanx again

  • @kylejamescarr not similar to say, but all the bands you listed have some of the same properties of the dear hunter....clean sounding music, stories behind the music, the lead singers use their voices as an instrument, and pure epicness

  • @CMPr0ductions Totally. Agree to the fullest man. I love Claudios voice so much. And the way he layers his words is just amazing. Dear Hunter has some of it as well... Three is really good too.

  • I've known about The dear hunter for like 4 years almost now, and damn man... they're still in my top 5 fav's ever since then. I love them and their jazzy/experimental /alternative style. They're so fucking fabulous, plus his voice can make any hag moist.

  • This band is outstanding.

  • these guys are quickly beating out Sufjan Stevens as my favorite music artists EVER I love them

  • I had never really heard of this band until today and I don't know why that is. They are so damn good!

  • absolutely beautiful. i met casey as well in ohio and he really was a nice dude. i can really appreciate how serious he is about his music. it's not manufactured. you can just feel when you listen to his vocals that he gives it his all which is something that i think needs to be brought into all music. having the balls to work this hard on something different is totally sexy. i have a crush on casey and all his brilliance.

  • i just saw them in california (as they moved here)

    Casey is really cool.

He stuck around after the show and just talked with like 10 of us and pretty much signed or said anything we asked him to.

He really deserve to be more famous

oh and Nate and andy suck for leaving the band - he told us the actual story. they are gay

  • @joshuaspolar

    edit : deserves**

  • @joshuaspolar Why did they leave? I'm curious.

  • @tapirdrummer

umm...i forget who did what, but one of them left because he just didn't want to leave their hometown, and wanted to go back to school.

The other sent Casey an email, saying basically "I don't see a future in what we're doing, so I can't move with you guys. I'm going back to school."

Kind of slapping Casey and all them in the face, saying they suck.

Both of them left AFTER they were all agreed on moving to LA, but they backed out pretty much last minute.

  • @joshuaspolar Shame. That was a great lineup imho.

  • i know casey, nate, and erick personally. They are way awesome guys! just wish they would tour more and in utah!

  • perfect... just perfect!!!

  • BAMBOOZLE NJ 2010 baby!!!!!!

  • Let them all fold! gahh i miss their shows, i need to go.

  • so tasty. all of their stuff is.

  • anybody got tabs for this song?

  • The Dear Hunter >...well you know. They're good.

Owl City = Death Cab for Cutie + Telletubbies

  • @TheBlindBalloonist Owl City is such a rip off of Postal Service (same guy from Death Cab)

  • @StevenZB1 I love death cab, hate owl city. it's NOT the same guy.

  • jajajaja lol thats funny dude xD

  • @TheBlindBalloonist AHAHAHHHA

  • @TheBlindBalloonist That is the most accurate description I've ever read for Owl City. xD

  • @TheBlindBalloonist owl city is a horrible version of The Postal Service, no where good enough to be in the same name as DCFC

  • @TheBlindBalloonist No, not Death Cab, are you shitting me? You clearly meant they're like Postal Service. They did it first, and Owl City sounds like them, but 10 times worse. The gay faggot fuck even admitted to blatantly copying them, the fucking shithead.

  • @TheBlindBalloonist + Mars Volta

  • this band ROCKS live. i heard them with touche amore thursday and the fall of troy at emos in austin earlier tonight...we were all jumping and dancing, it was soooooo awesome!!!!

  • My sister thinks these guys have no talent.

And shes sitting here arguing with me and Its pissing me off,

Because these guess will always have more talent than she will ever have in her life.

  • Damn thats f*cked up :P she probably thinks britney spears has talent or something like that ;). Cause these guys are fanf'ingtastic.

  • Out of interest what was her argument? How she could possibly try and convince anyone of that is ridiculous.

  • @Kaffy12 tell your sister she's ridiculous! TDH is amazing and always will be. Wherever Casey Crescenzo is, there will talent be also.

  • what music does your sister like?! hahaha if she thinks that these guys have no talent then she probably like music that combines White Chapel with Owl City. could you imagine how bad that would turn out?!

  • Are these the guys that are playing with Thrice at SOMA in San Diego on December 4th? I just may have to get there early to watch them.

  • these guys are fucking boss. im seeing them in october with thursday and the fall of troy...its funny because the fall of troy and these guys are not alike but i love them both. :) and, btw haters...fuck off.

  • yeah i saw t hem last night with coheed =)....they were aweeesome.

  • I was there too. The concert was sweet!

  • ha me too=)

ive never heard of these guys until yesterday

  • I'm going to that show too! :D

    At the Knitting Factory right?

  • saw them with the fall of troy and foxy shazam last year or something, i thought they sucked but it was because i'd never listened before, i wish i'd seen them appreciating what i do now...

  • I just saw them last night at the knitting factory in hollywood with them ! they were soooo fucking epic :]

  • that snare sounds awesome. best snare i've heard in a while.

  • love his bass too.

  • hey poopface if ur gonna troll atleast be funny.

  • this is pretentious? sounds like a rock song to me.

  • i miss TREOS :**

  • Act III is great.

  • @VayaMartinez Act II is better

  • @cicatriz3 Yeah it is.

  • i find it funny that Luke Dent is now a baseball coach for a baberuth team in my town Walpole MA. i knew he was in this band but never thought he would come back to his home town....

  • In my opinion, Act II is the best thus far.

  • This song reminds me a lot of Quarter Past by The Fall of Troy.

  • haha. yeah. i never realized that till i read that comment.

  • Just saw them last night it was life changing amazing lol

  • ahhh. (: i love the dear hunter so much. as do i love the receiving end of sirens. honestly.. they were so much better when he was still there.

but i'm glad he did this.

    it's almost breathetaking.

  • They're playing with me without you?!

  • lol

  • I'm uploading all of Act III by The Dear Hunter on my page for anyone interested.

  • Good job on ripping them off

  • I'm pretty sure Im going to buy all the three at one point, but I only have enough credit on my iTunes right now for one. Which is the best? Should I buy Act I, II or III

  • first

  • I started with Act II, gives you a good idea of what they're all about.

Act III is sounding even better so far though.

  • Great band. I can't wait to see them with mewithoutYou. They're my two most favorite bands, so it'll be great.

  • dude i saw them in L.A such a good show

  • so happy to see them create music videos, absolute amazing band. for sure top 5. seeing them live will bring chills. trust.

  • I LOVE THE DEAR HUNTER!!!!!!

  • me too!!, lol

  • Haunting.

  • I can't wait to see these guys in NYC July 10th I just found out about them a month or so ago and they are incredible lyrically and instrumentally.

  • Comment removed

  • they will be at the bowery ballroom in ny july 10th the show starts at 8

  • this song is badass

  • love you casey:)

when are you visiting me next!!!?

  • Yeah, im pretty sure that he was in TREOS.

  • the person below is an idiot.

  • im almost positive he used to be the lead singer of TREOS, but was he in thrice too? his voice sounds very thrice-ish, especially in the chorus.

  • Yes, Casey Creszenzo was one of the three singers for TREOS. He is NOT affiliated with Thrice, however.

  • this band is awesome! I just found out there's a story behind all their songs, this is going to be so awesome! when is act 3 coming out?

  • amazing sonnnggg.

  • Dear Hunter has been out for 4 years... plus they rock..

    DEERHUNTER not so much...

  • Was Deerhunter aware that there were people called deer hunters who actually hunt deer? It seems deliberate.

  • In a maniacal sense, yes it was lol...

    smart-ass lol jk jk...

  • According to the plot of the story that the songs tell Ms. Terri's kid(the main character of the story based around all there songs) would catch animals and show them to her and she would call him her little Dear Hunter

  • The Dear Hunter is the main character of the story told in the so far, 2 out of 6 albums TDH plans on releasing.

  • Everyone awesome is doing album stories...

  • Except not really. Theirs is spelled differently and is the name of a film. I don't think they literally thought "hey, that band has a similar name, lets take it and switch it around so we can be cooler."

  • it was meant to be a play on words like "deer hunter" versus 'someone who is dear' hunter. they do all sorts of similar word play in the lyrics- ie: "the pimp and priest prey quietly" versus "pray" quietly; Ms. Terri versus mystery, etc.

  • Yeah, we could call Ms. Terri "Betty" and Ms. Leading "Cindy", THEN they'll actually be a GOOD band.

  • Do you realize that there is a movie called "The Deer Hunter" and that that is part of the inspiration behind the names of both bands?

  • i love this song.

    its amazing.(:

  • Holy shit that screaming he does is beautiful.

It's like jazzy but he still keeps his TREOS sound.

    Really great band.

  • his voice is truly amazing :]

  • fucking best lyrics
