Hard landing with SAS at London Heathrow airport

Detta är inte en hård landning! kanske det är bara inte så trevlig som en normal landning för SAS- som jag tycker har några av d bästa piloter!

That is no way a hard landing, perhaps you should have been on few flights and landing i went through in the military, some of them i thought the wheels would fall off..  A couple we blew out tires, and one time i remember the plane went sideways. This landing was lame and tame ;)

I've flown many, many times and I'm sorry to tell ya poster, but that was about as picture perfect a landing as one could hope for. Your "jump" was nothing more than a bump. LOL.

I landed in Montreal once in a DC-10 in a thunderstorm. When a plane lands "hard" you not only FEEL it, but it sounds like a 10 ton hammer slams the bottom of the plane too. lol. That's evidence of a hard landing.

If you thought that was a hard landing, maybe you should stick to trains and boats. he he : D

Actually, that wasn't a hard landing at all. I've seen smoother landings, but i've also seen much harder landings.

Ground spoilers are activated by a teleflex cable attached to the maingear,this means they are ONLY activated once the aircraft is on the ground..otherwise the thing will crash!!

@chriscbr600rr77 ive flown on thoas cook a 330 and they used the spoilers on approuch to slow the plane down i didnt think you could so i tryed it on fsx with an thomoas cook a330 200 and my speed and alttdue decreased sorry my spelling im spanish

Bit of a tiny impact..but not that hard. Planes might bounce sometime, but doesn't harm that much.^^

Is that your first landing in an airplane? It was pretty smooth if you ask me. I heard no one screaming in pain inside the cabin after touchdown. Spoilers are armed on approach to deploy on touchdown. The captain did not deploy them at touchdown, the plane did.

well , Spoilers are already armed prior to touch down .. That doesn't mean that the pilot is USING them to get the plane down !!

On YouTube, when people are about to drop their VCR:s on touchdown, they call it a hard landing. A hard landing is when you hit ground at more than 180 m/sec vertical speed.

I dont think that the captain used the spoilers to come down again. The spoilers open automaticly when touching ground.

When I landed at Heathrow in November (traveling from Oslo as well) I thought the wing was going to touch down before the wheels did.

Was pretty windy and wet. But have to say, it was quite an interesting experience.

My other half thinks I may have something wrong with me as I enjoy all these things like bumpy landings and turbulence.

She's probably right, but I know i'm safe and there's no point worrying over such things. Sit down, have fun and enjoy it! ^^

it's not that bad, you have to settle down fast the air-ground logic prevents the use of speed brakes and reverse thrust

I would say that this is quite a good landing. yes a little bumpy but at least you are safe on the ground.

Same thing happened to me once back in -99 when landing in Göteborg with Lufthansa. Granted, the weather was terrible but it was still a WTF moment: "Is it supposed to bounce off the ground like that?" :)

This is a hard landing, just as the title suggests. If you watch the shadow on touchdown you can see how quickly it hits the ground. It did bounce, but the original touchdown is hard. Not dangerously so, but it's not a great landing. Good video all the same though.

the spoilers go up on their own.. the pilot most likely had them armed before the landing. but that does look a bit harder of a landing than i have ever been involved with.

SAS, I travelled with my Norwegian passport and was made fun of because I look latin and have a Norwegian passport. the most of the workers that day made fun of me saying "you Norwegian? hahahahhah" the racism I got was awful!
