Take the case from this week, for instance, where the Obama administration is requiring Catholic organizations to provide abortions as part of their health packages despite the fact that it's their belief! They are not requiring them to provide abortions they are requiring that the healthcare packages they provide cover contraceptives. You may see that as abortion I do not, so we may have to agree to disagree on that point. Basically the religious organizations have to follow the same rules as another organization religious or not.that receives tax dollars for the services they provide. Everyone plays by the same rules. If they do not want to, they should not take tax payer money.

There are loop holes and escape clauses in about every law. Plus, "everyone plays by the same rules" (having guidelines) is different from forcing people to do something. There is a big difference between group health insurance vs the actual insurance companies.

So I am right. And this law if often times intertwined with Jefferson's sentiment about separation of church and state, which is why I said what I did that it's a freedom OF religion, not FROM religion.

Actually the complaint wasn't from a bunch of Muslims as Beck Limbaugh and Fox would have you think. The complaint came from The Military Religious Freedom Foundation and it wasn't that they didn't want the drive it was that it went through the wrong channels. The Air Force Academy has had its problems with harassment of Religious Minorities by good Chritians in the past.
The sad truth is things like this are used as weapons against other Religions to create anger and hatred.

I'm guessing the problem people had with the charity is that they are doing it in the name of Jesus Christ and are trying to use those gifts as a way to get children to convert to christianity. clarification: evolution is not a theory. macroevolution is a theory. microevolution is very much based on fact. the guadelupe island lizard (I don't know the specific name) is one proof of that, and another is the virus. viruses mutate all the time and become different yet nearly identical to what it was before. it's part of the reason we get flu shots every year and not just once.

They are not requiring them to provide abortions they are requiring that the healthcare packages they provide cover contraceptives. You may see that as abortion I do not, so we may have to agree to disagree on that point. Basically the religious organizations have to follow the same rules as another organization religious or not.that receives tax dollars for the services they provide. Everyone plays by the same rules. There are loop holes and escape clauses in about every law. Plus, "everyone plays by the same rules" (having guidelines) is different from forcing people to do something. Actually the complaint wasn't from a bunch of Muslims as Beck Limbaugh and Fox would have you think. The complaint came from The Military Religious Freedom Foundation and it wasn't that they didn't want the drive it was that it went through the wrong channels. The Air Force Academy has had its problems with harassment of Religious Minorities by good Chritians in the past.
The sad truth is things like this are used as weapons against other Religions to create anger and hatred.

Also I think it's very misleading that you're not stating that the "Christmas Tree Tax" is 15 cents per tree. That's what you're complaining about? I'm guessing the problem people had with the charity is that they are doing it in the name of Jesus Christ and are trying to use those gifts as a way to get children to convert to christianity. What about those children who are already another religion? Quote from their video "Rosanna was 10 when she came to Christ after receiving her gift." They do great work and I am for all charity but the air force is a govt organization and shouldn't be promoting one religion.

clarification: evolution is not a theory. macroevolution is a theory. microevolution is very much based on fact. the guadelupe island lizard (I don't know the specific name) is one proof of that, and another is the virus. viruses mutate all the time and become different yet nearly identical to what it was before. it's part of the reason we get flu shots every year and not just once.

Well there is a lot of errors to address here. First, WE ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION!!! Thank goodness for that too. our founding father were not Christians they were deists(most of them). Why would non-Christians start a christian nation, makes no sense. Also please study the first amendment, freedom of religion also means freedom from religion. Also sure the first amendment doesn't say"church-state separation", but it is implied because Jefferson knew the danger of church and state being one.

They knew of the danger of religion and state mixing. Having state and church separate is just common sense. Anytime something mixes with government it goes horribly wrong. If you want to try and change the establishment clause and get rid of it, go for it but I will fight it. So will many Christians for that matter too.
