I want more of this Video, I love seeing Jamey like this grabing on to his sisters hand, pulling on her to bring her someplace, and takeing the food down that he wanted=)
He is just so handsome! I've watched a lot of your videos and I must say that he seems like a very happy young man when he is having a good time such as on this video. I hope he continues to improve and he is very lucky and blessed to have such a great support system!
Wow....your son is doing amazing in this video. I had seen some of your prior ones. I think the fluctuation of severity in many cases is due to inflammation in the brain/body. Just like people with autoimmune diseases, you will see fluctuations different times of the year. My neighbor has Lupus and she is at her worst in the winter. Lots of sunshine/Vit D is great for inflammation along with fish oils, etc. Your son looked so calm and happy here :)
I agree that we never give up! My grandson is so much like your son. He can articulate well when he does speak. He uses single words (labels) for food, and favorite things. Though sometimes it is very hard pulling words out of him. Lately his teachers say he isn't focused at school.
@ckcarlson1 I wish we had a portable SPECT scan to see how the brain fluctuates throughout the week.....I think in some cases of autism, there are some rapid fluctuations of blood flow, etc....it's like a cerebral roller coaster ride for the person...always stuck between this plane, trying to get to the higher functioning one...keeping brain healthy is critical..so it can better make those connections..
aw he loves his sister a bunch! that is just so touching :) it is great to see. i have watched several of your other videos and you are an amazing and inspiring family.
have you tried PECS, look it up on here, its an amazing communication tool. Autism is a visual world. He looks very happy here! you are doing a great job
Yes, tried pecs, but he doesn't seem interested, not to say he won't be interested next month or next year...with severe autism, it's important not to give up, I've read stories where a 30 yr. old autistic man began saying his first words, and nobody could figure out why, it just happened....miracles are always possible at any age.
I really enjoy your videos of your son. While he obviously struggles more than any of us will ever have to, you can still see this pure innocence in his eyes. And it just shows how people with special needs are a true blessing. :)
My son is autistic and we have gotten a lot done with him check out channel or search burgebj and you will see him. Can you please tell me what you think of his speech and motor skills.
This video made me get all warm and fuzzy inside. Seeing him purposefully (or so it looked like it) grab his sister's hand and not want to let go was just precious. :)
love you Jamers

That video was utterly precious. I am curious---has he said any words at all, ever?

I was wondering if jamie had any communication device that he uses on a daily basis to communicate his needs?? Such as pecs?
