  • 0:09 that's winter?!?!? wow...must be nice..that looks like my spring/summer!!

  • one of the first episodes I EVER saw.

  • 6:00 - 6:43 . ...What.....the.....hell....? I don't even know how to correctly respond to the song they just played.

  • agggghhh! I am so freaked out!

  • ok...definately one of the creepiest episodes... great job Matthew Gray Gubler!

  • This episode is a masterpiece. Enough said.

  • lol everyone agrees like the top comments that this one is creepy i totally agree with them LOL the creepy music the scary old lady reminds me of insidious

  • @MrRockstr1 i thought the same thing about insidious.. that old lady is scary.

  • @ThePoptart1999 I know. I did the exact same thing. If you notice, Matthew Gray Gubler tends to do the creepier episodes. He also directed Lauren, the one where Prentiss "dies".

  • This was the VERY first episode i watched of criminal minds,I then fell in love with reid...did research on Matthew Gubler found out he directed it...Wow..

  • i am going to hear this music and see that couple in my nightmares.

  • whose the douche who disliked this?

  • The girl with curly hair is really pretty :)

  • i totally saw the eye thing coming, but i still jumped five feet in the air..

  • This episode is directed by matthew, has the girl from silence of the lambs and evan peters in it. Awesome.

  • geat job directing MGG!

  • wow that was a tearjerker at the end and I'm dead inside

  • Grats on Directing it Spencer. :P

  • so sad heart breaking :(

  • This must be one of the best episodes of CM ever. Splendid debut for MGG as a director - the chap's just so talented he's well-nigh as brilliant as the role he plays (if you don't believe me, watch his documentary on himself). Hats off, too, to the actors in this episode, especially the unsubs; they were absolutely scary and worthy of starring in a full-length blockbuster horror movie.

  • Poor Steven,,,,=(

  • Okay, I love this episodes! It's like suuuper creepy, but one thing thy I didn't understand, why did they kidnap all those children? Usually it's some physchological thing, but they didn't tell us why this episode.... Also, "Directed by Matthew Gray Gubler". Amazing, I love him soo much, but whenever he directs an episode he always has a more minor role as Reid, but hopefully this Wednesday's episode with have lost of him! (He is directing it)

  • @22.48 is garcia wearin dick earings ? xx <3

  • horse abuse

  • I never cry during shows or movies. Got to the bit where Steven's father realizes that Steven was alive yesterday... I was a blubbering mess :'(

  • Has anyone realised that the profile is only useful to the BAu and not the normal law enforcement?

  • "Cmon you gotta be kiddin m-

    O-O!"

    Charlies a boss

  • I stumbled across this episode on tv once that's how I got into criminal minds ;) first episode I ever saw ! XD

  • Big "Thank you <3" to Matthew Gray Gubler for this episode.

  • One of my friends lives on a road called Mosley Lane....too creepy

  • That bit about Steven being alive yesterday? Cried. My. Eyes. Out.

  • On every episode i write "this is my favourite episode"

  • Charlie is so brave

  • MGG is a really good director, the way he did it was very refreshing, kudos MGG

  • Aimee is so adorable. I'm so glad she doesn't die.

  • This episode is beautiful, everything is so understated, even the deaths of the unsubs, until you get to the last few scenes where the parent are being told the fates of their children, and you just end up crying. Truly incredible. Thank you for putting these up here. :)

  • are these based off of true stories? and by the way I LOVE CRIMINAL MINDS <3 IT IS MY FAVORITE SHOW EVVVEEERRR!!!!!!!

  • Aimee Lynch? like Kevin Lynch? O.o

  • @smileydramapancakes Maybe like David Lynch. I'm a fan of DL work, and after watching Dead or Retarded, I also think Mathew is, plus, he's following him on twitter.

  • probably my favourite episode!

  • This was one of the first episodes I ever watched, it seems so long ago... Now I've watched everything leading up to it and it's so good i is going to re-watch it. :)

  • this was one of the best episodes, i live MGG's episodes! Cant wait for his one this season :)

  • This is actually the scariest episode I have seen, well done Matthew for making me scared to ever go back to a fayre of any sort.

  • Aimee is very beautiful I think (:

  • "mama's gonna buy you a billy goat"...wtf?!?

  • @mgobluegrl93 That song is number one on my creepy children's songs.

  • Wow. The first episode that MGG directes and it turns out to be the creepiest and the most infuriating. Takes a lot of talent to create an episode this heartrenching.

  • this episode is creepy and to make it worse they play the most disturbing music throughout it!

  • -3 Evan Peters -3

  • This episode is freaky scary.

  • Come on, you gotta be kiddi [BANG!!!!]

  • Made me give my son extra hugs and kisses today.

  • lol.. that awkward moment when your name is MJ Moseley

    too close for comfort

  • Can I ask a question does anyone know why they always kidnapped kids? I've watched this but either I missed something or they didn't really say. Was it cause they couldn't have kids or were they just simply nuts?

  • @Moonstone2732 She's probably infertile. Most female child abductors can't have children of their own.

  • @Moonstone2732 There was no stated reason why they kidnapped the kids, which is one of the reasons this episode is sort of different than most of the. I agree with @HillChris1234 though, she was probably infertile and her husband was some submissive guy who always had issues or something.

  • Probably my favorite moment is when Charlie and his mom reunite

  • This music is the creepiest part.

  • I'm pretty sure the mom in the beginning was on Grey's Anatomy.

  • Aimee's mother is played by the woman who was the girl Buffalo Bill took in silence of the lambs, Catherine Martin. My mind=blown

  • omg i love when ot says :directed by MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER, i love him so much 11:27

  • I've never seen this show before this is my first episode I've ever seen and it pretty amazing

  • ding dong! the witch is dead

  • Omg I cried so much in the end...the fact that Charlie recognized his parents...and when he told the other parents about their son...ahhhh. Matthew gray Gubler you fucking genius, you!

  • I got a feeling of relief when Charlie shot the woman. -3 Matthew's directing B.T.W ;D

  • @Twihard0105 yeah

  • Two thumbs up for Director Matthew Gray Gubler ~ This is awesome!! I cry a lot (esp. when Charlie comes to tell Steven's parents why he died) This is one of my fav episodes.

  • look at that huge gun reid's carrying...

  • erica hahn... LOL OKAY IM DONE.

  • Probably one of the best episodes that I've seen... Then again, I've only seen about seven...

  • @RascaIKat If no one minds, I'm going to add on to what I was saying. The only real part in this that lacked a certain poetic justice was that Aimee's parents never realized that she would certainly have died had Charlie not intervened. And yet they said he was just as bad as the rest of them. It almost seems unfair. But, I digress, this was a fantastic, haunting, delightful, and utterly awe-inspiring episode. I can't think of much else to say but that :)

  • @RascaIKat The parents were distraught, I guess they wanted someone to blame. The mother blamed herself at first then when they reveal Charlie took her they see something more real for them to blame. They (or I guess the mother) probably had to take time to understand that Charlie's been brainwashed or threaten most of his life that he was only told as he was instructed by his kidnappers.

  • TATE!

  • Matthew went bad...

  • oh my god! I cried so much. This was a very good directed episode.Loved it.

  • This was amazing <3

  • This is one of my favourite Criminal Minds episodes. It's just so amazing!! I cried at the end because I was happy and sad!! Matthew Gray Gubler is a genius!!

  • The boy is from American Horror Story.

  • Made me cry.. MGG is pure genius!

  • I came because of Evan peters oh and Tumblr ;)

  • Did Spencer Reid really directed this, i am amazed.

  • @ValentineManson Well, Matthew Gray Gubbler did!

  • This, hands down, is my favorite episode of all time.

  • O my goodness! At the end i got so emotional! I was trying so hard to hold back the tears!

  • thumbs up if you came to this episode because of one of the top comments on ep. 18 of season 6 ;)

  • Gah! Wtf Morgan! Shave that thing off of your face! Makes it hard taking you seriously

  • oh my god she is burning the boy ALIVE !!

  • @nahooly8 I know =(

  • If you click the snowflake, it doesn't make this episode as sad. :[

  • whats the song at 38:50?

  • @PedoBearsHD Its "Illabye" by Tipper.

  • @FollowingBeauty I love you <3

  • Matthew Gray Gulber makes these episodes amazing. This is the best episode I have seen.

  • why are the victims always named allison #hatemyname

  • @allisonmichellemusic that is so true like pretty little liars

  • This is an amazing episode. I cried for most of it. So touching.

  • I could have gone all my life without knowing, then someone took my soon. Love that!

  • 11:27 ---- directed by MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER !!!!! :D

  • evan peters <3

  • What a touching episode at the end. Although I feel super sad for the family who lost their child. :(

  • @ilovetraveling7 So unfair. The boy died just few days before they were found. so sad

  • @Nadesiko85 I know right!! :'( SUPER sad :'''((

  • Touching episode.

  • AWWWW tears* .

  • the music in this episode is uber creepy....

  • always when an episode was made by MGG it's a one that scares you and make you think about stuff..

  • @oldnewheb He directed it, he didn´t write the story.

  • @Nadesiko85 but it is still greepy.....

  • Two things that scare me OFFICIALLY:

    1) Crematories

    2) Creepy Carnival music

thanks Criminal Minds for teaching me so much...

  • Reid direct this episode!!! :D i mean, Matthew Gray Gubbler did... :)

  • the mom and the daughter in the first scene looks alike...

  • The ending was wonderful, but made me cry.

  • Once the wind blows, the couple would inhale some of their son.

  • REID REID REID REID REID REID REID REID REID REID REID REID REID REID

  • LOL love how the creepy lady is also the crazy mom in the skittles commercials.

  • This is one of my favorite episodes. It was also a very emotional one! The young man that plays Charlie is also the guy that plays Tate on the show American Horror Story!

  • I feel for the family whose kid wasn't coming back :(

  • Omg waterfall! ! This was so so so sad but happy! Teeeeeaaaarrrssss

  • OMG. firstly, Matthew did a great job. This episode was overwhelmingly emotional. The end scene was so lovely but heartbreaking at the same time.. :'| I can't believe this. I'm still in shock. Just..WOW

  • Amazing episode! go MGG! he should do more directing haha :)

  • call me a softy but i'm crying. hope is the thing with feathers

  • DIRECTED BY MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Episode =]

  • "Directed by Matthew Gray Gubler" So proud of my bby <3

  • loving mattews ideas when he directed this episode the creepy ones are the best :)

  • @jodiec1997 #matthew

  • He was alive yesterday!!!!!!!!!! ):

  • Reid STILL looks a little silly with that six-shooter... Damn thing is bigger than he is.

  • methew has a dark side.. what he was tinking when he made this episode???? mama-i wanna go home...

  • @coolman123ism

I see your point, but think of Steven as a soldier who died in battle, protecting a more inexperienced comrade. You are proud of the soldier for saving his friend, but his death is still mourned because the world lost a wonderful person. THAT is why his parents were crying (plus, Steven was their son, so... yeah).

  • @elfafire7

It also adds a touch of bittersweetness. If only the team had been a little faster, maybe Stephen would still be alive, too.

  • Am in love with Morgan

  • the family that never got their child back, instead of crying alot they should be proud that the kids risk their life for the younger ones.

  • You must be kid... BAM

best moment of criminal minds ever!

Also, good luck selling that house

  • @Maxvdk24 Fucked that bitch up where she deserved it.

  • What is the backing track called at 12:03 when she is hiding under the bed? Its also used when the other girl talks to her :)

  • ...im kind of scared now.

  • Yaaaay!!!!!!! MGG has done it again. Prentiss's death episode and this. I'm speechless.

  • this is really his style...creepy and weird.

  • Thumbs up if you jumped at 4:44

  • I actually cried at the end :') now THAT'S something we don't see often

  • this is the only episode of criminal minds when I've actually cried

  • @raquelcohanim

So did I...Great episode. Days like that make it all worth while for the whole team! MGG did an excellent job.

  • @raquelcohanim as if not cry for the end of 5x09??

  • This is really scary. Matthew Gray Gubler is a great director.

  • Evan Peters!!

  • this episode was creepy but mostly sad.. that one couple could've had their son steven.. smh

  • Matthew Gray Gubler did an excellent job of directing this episode!

  • This episode is soooo creepy! Heart jumping to my throat at every second we see a glimpse of the abductors!

  • omg directed by matthew gray gubler :D:D

  • 36:58 WATCH OUT! we got a badass over here!!!

  • Matthew directed an awesome show.

  • They have this music that they use in child episodes. The music box music is a good sign that easily creeped out people should turn off the TV.

  • So, wait, why were they abducting the children? I think I missed that part :\

  • this was my firts CM episode after this i couldn't stop watching !!.. thank u so much for the full episode u r the best !!..

  • i love the director who did this one... and i also love Dr. Reid.... coincidence? i think not... :)

  • @LoveThrillerMJ Dr Reid was the director of this own

  • i can spot a few technical errors Mr. Gubler! tsk tsk tsk

  • wow!! so sad and happy at the same time!

Matthew Gray Gubler did a great job as a director!

    great actor and director...perfect!!! ♥♥♥♥

  • That eye in the hole in the wall, even though I knew it was coming, literally made me punch myself in the face as my chin was resting on my chin.

  • @thepurpleroom1 *chin was resting on my hand.

Also wasn't the boy that was beaten, in another episode? I think it was called Children of the Dark.

  • I really liked the music in this ep but it was still a creepy episode but I loved the directing... <3 MGG <3

  • you can totaly see gublers )directing) style on it. I looooooove this episode.
