I REMEMBER A FEW YEARS AGO, THERE WERE SOME UPSET MUSICIANS COMING BACK SAYING...SOMEBODY JUST USED THE NAME JESUS...AND THEIR SONG WAS THE HIT....AS FOR ME...I LOVE IT....THANK YOU GOD FOR V. MICHAEL MCKAY...
Okkkk, lol where is the rest of the SONG!!! The group did an AWESOME JOB, and yes V. Michael McKay wrote the song, but "Oh Jesus" does have a VAMP, in which I would have loved for them to have sung it....oh well, maybe its something extra he taught us here in Texas, since he resides here....but again awesome, nice vocals!
Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church here in Memphis, TN recorded and released it first that I know of in 2004. GMWA National Mass Choir recorded it in 2005 and it was released in 2006. If anyone else actually recorded it, I don't know.
That's true. V Michael taught it to them. He's always here doing workshops. The first time I ever heard it was in December of 2003 when V Michael McKay and Kathy Taylor-Brown were in concert at my church and the featured vocalist (Carol Strong Thompson) from Mississippi Boulevard's CD was in the house and she sang it that night. I fell in love with that song back then!

I just realized that the soloist sound 20 times better than on the other video, which is crazy, cuz I didn't think her beautiful voice could get any more heavenly! BTW, What happened to Tammy and the other dude?
I have always loved how KBT sings this song! Lovely to see it on here!

This isn't KBT's choir...this is Sean Tillery w/Amber singing the lead. They went to Oakwood.

Actually V. Michael McKay in Houston wrote this song. But all the other information about GMWA is correct.

I must agree. The young lady on this video has a better voice but a Bishop's homegoing, she sang with some spirit. Something that moved my soul...
