Marriage is defined as the formal union between a man and a woman. I am all for the creation of civil unions that give gay couples equal rights, however, modifying the definition of marriage is unnecessary and I don't believe that these civil unions should be termed "marriage"
@Heydosaurus it is necessary, having separate but equal institutions will mean that someone can decide to make a law 10 years down the track that specifically targetes civil unions and thereby gay people.
if you don't want gays to get married, how about you ban marriages altogether and only have civil unions? on a legality and equality side, its much the same thing

What benefits are there to have a marriage certificate be it by church or state?

when I was at school we had to plan our wedding(SOR). My friends and I had it all planned, we had so much fun. But then when I was showing my closest friend of all I started to cry. when I was at school we had to plan our wedding(SOR). My friends and I had it all planned, we had so much fun. But then when I was showing my closest friend of all I started to cry. I started to hate all that work and fun that went into the project. All because I could I never have that day. We bring up our children believing that they will find the right person and marry them ... never did any one mention to me then that I couldn't - I had to find out the hard and be reminded every single day.

What lies now with Libs "audits" of the costings, 11 billion found finally with the help of the Independents, & now almost two months on it is found they didn't even get them audited.It is just scary they could well of been charge in running our country & ecconomy. Where have all the good Libs gone?
