I agree. I prefer videos where people show their skills producing items with simple but effective methods, so you can benefit from their knowledge by reproducing their methods. No way to reproduce what is shown in this video if you not the owner of 100k$ equipment and tools.
Hey, man... beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And that thing is awesome. As working artists, needing to do what you do within time constraints, etc, I think you do a good job of blending old traditions with new methodologies to create. Awesome. Also... can I have your sign? I need an anvil... :)
i understand that we live in the "modern" age but i hate to use arc welding on forged pieces. you have an amazing shop and production I'm sure is key but the beauty lies within the old techniques of forge welding and cutting plate with hammer and chisel, or hacksaw. I'm not saying that that wasn't cool, but imagine if that piece was made with traditional techniques then it would be amazing.
Personally, I'm happy to weld something as long as the weld is hidden. Modern electric welds visible on forged pieces can entirely ruin their aesthetic appeal. All this said, that sun flower is very nice!
How many hours labour!!??In the UK the bill would be £2grand just for the flower!!Workshops are very greedy over here, dont we know it,I used to ru a few!!
thats interesting, has anyone shot themselves with it in the hand by accident? i wonder what the docter would say if you came in and said"i lost my finger to a water gun!!"
wow it cuts glass! im a lampworker myself but for stained glass applications im sure it produces some amazing pieces. i also liked how you twisted the metal, very similar to glass. the best of luck with your art/work brother
I used to work at Woodard's Wrought Iron Furniture Factory and used similar tools on the job there. Except we had a full-time Blacksmith working there.
I use to work on hydraulic systems of tank turrets in the Army. Most people just don't realize how much power goes through hydraulic lines. It's not so different from this water cutter. If a hydraulic line bursts while you're standing next to it, it could literally cut off your arm.

The thing is, once a video on here gets a certain amount of hits,
people come on here to plug their own video's in a hope to improve their own views.
I would NEVER do that!
