  • I just tap the wall with a hammer lol

  • Im in - so were do you get that magnet?

  • @spacehopperballs

I think I got it on ebay.

You can get some really strong Neodymium magnets now that are great for this purpose

  • @ultimatehandyman You can still find the earth magnets but they are going to quickly go up in cost from what I hear. With all of the Electric cars being built it is becoming harder to get them. Not sure when the cost will go up but it can't be to much longer.

  • @spacehopperballs Disassemble any broken hard drive, free.

  • or you could use a FUCKIN MEASURING TAPE...COME ON PEOPLE IT SHOULD BE KNOWN WORLD WIDE STUDS R 16IN ON CENTER APART...

  • @925dude

Not everyone can be a genius like you!

What about studs spaced at 18 or 24 inch?

How do you find the first stud?

USING A MAGNET LOOKS LIKE A PRETTY GOOD IDEA- DOESN'T IT!

  • @ultimatehandyman

    im far from perfect...=)

n i didnt build every house i tha world...

and when looking 4 studs start at the end of a wall not in the middle.

then from there use whatever method works for you to find the studs

such as what you showed or a if the walls unfinished you can use a 3 in nail n tap it in where u think one can be n search that way...or you can use a sledge hammer n punch a fat hole in tha sheet rock...lol...

  • @925dude sounds like your a simpleton

  • @925dude Not always. Smart guy. 16 or 24 on a framed wall. Under the steps like he is showing could be anywhere. Why take the chance and pound holes in the walls unless you are 100%? And your post is ridiculous.

  • Awesomesause

  • !Your Bloody amazing! Thanks!

  • this is very handy, sometimes you can find studs by knocking on the wall until the knock sounds solid, thats usually the sign of a stud

  • yer fuckin great idea if u found a nice thick metal wire cable finkin it was a screwhead then u blow the fuck up ud have the biggest hole in ureself and the wall GUD JOB HAHA

  • @chris251287able

    Cables are made from copper.

    Copper is not magnetic!

  • @ultimatehandyman Correct!

  • @ultimatehandyman

You are obviously better educated both on English and common senses.

    Great video, thanks for sharing!!!

  • @JasonECI

Not sure about the English lol, but I have enough common sense ;-)

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @chris251287able Plus a cable is continuous.

  • You GOT to try the Magic Stud Finder products, if you want to hang anything on walls ,thats the tool you need.

  • @biaryinnovation

I'd rather just use a magnet thanks, rather than pay for a set of plastic coated magnets etc.

  • hw wud u find a stud if the plasterborads r skimmed n a thick coat of paint ova it? :S

  • @kulvi86

neodymium magnets work well as they are more powerful than a standard magnet. You can pick them up on ebay!

  • Worked perfect, needed something very quickly and with stuff I had on hand

  • @junkmailoox

    Glad it worked for you.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Nice simple idea,great tip.
