Barack Obama has a "Christmas surprise" for the American people. It's based upon the FCC's self-imposed December 21 deadline to implement new Internet rules. Obama's FCC is ready to steal our Internet freedom by simply declaring it has the "right" to regulate it. His problem? Internet journalists tend to report the news without coloring it with the brush of "political correctness." They challenge the lies that the Obama puts out that the Mainstream Media simply accept and repeat as the truth.
ANd Maydayfire and Mjhovok illustrate the point quite well with their comments. It can't be an accident that even a year ago they couldn't tell apart Google and YouTube! That's how each would prefer it! Big Comm seeks to either buy out or secretly merge with all other communication avenues. Does anyone remember when the two became joined at the hip? NO, of course not, we weren't supposed to!
internet is SAVE anyway...if someone try to make it freeless, the german hackers are going to fuck up everything what AT&T will try to do!!!! i'm with u moby!!
I'll fucking learn to hack if it happens and I'll do everything in my power to fuck up anyone who wants to fuck with the internet.
The can make programs that are solid against hackers, but they can't make programs against molotov coctails, a.k.a. the poor man's hand grenade!
And the south might rise in a different way than a lot of southerners hope if this happens. I mean, if you want the free world to want to dead, then yes, take away the internet!
It is important to get this point otherwise you miss the whole argument:
Government regulation is NOT the same as government censorship. For example, the government can pass REGULATIONS that censorship of the Internet is illegal. Do you see?
(Of course, that's unlikely).
We want the US government to REGULATE that telcos cannot control or influence the passage of Internet content in favour of one party or another.
I don't think that telecom companies should be able to influence content. It's similar to contracting out a construction company to build a road and then allowing them to collect tolls on that highway. Regulation is the domain of the government and not the corporations. We all know what happens when we allow corporations to police themselves. *Cough...MCI World Com...Enron...Cough Cough*
The fact is, you don't know shit just like 90% of the internet users. You think net neutrality pervents government censorship? No, Net neutrality doesn't apply to the government, it applies to telecoms, which means it does not pervent government from, say, pass a law that force all ISP to censor certain content.
Al Gore is the rightful president of the United States anyway. That Florida election thing with the chits will never and I mean never be forgotten. This internet thing is just the latest manifestation of America's miserable decline into totalitarianism. For crying out loud do something about it before they line you up against the bloody wall!
is that a hint that someone needs to unite the common american and overthrow the current government and retake control for ourselves just as the declaration of independence says we should if the government gets out of control? I agree tho, If net neutrality loses we will be well on our way to being controlled and eventually silenced by our own government.
You think net neutrality pervents government censorship? No, Net neutrality doesn't apply to the government, it applies to telecoms, which means it does not pervent government from, say, pass a law that force all ISP to censor certain content. BTW, did you know UK, Canada, Korea act. does not have net neutrality regulations? Only idiotic americans think the government should be allowed to regulate the net.
I dont care if you're a Democrat or a Republican or whatever, if you're reading this odds are that you're an average person, and getting rid of net neutrality will totaly screw over the average person SO PLEASE SAVE THE INTERNET
Hey, have you heard of current tv? I'm sure you have. www.current.tv, you can upload your net neutrality peice there and try to get paid for it. (you'll have to take it off here first, though.)
Not sure if AT&T officially is backing this, but if they are I would like their reps to know you're a piece of dog sh1t and I nor anyone I know will ever purchase any one of your products or services ever again. I am sure that I am not the only one that thinks this way. GO AT&T!!!
If you trust Corporations to play fair, you are an idiot. The government needs to at a minimum to keep the playign field fair. They don't need to be continually selling off the field itself.
What if they did this with phone service? Or the Interstate Highway system?
i get the feeling "some" congressmen recieve "donations"from AT&T in wich case the battle is already lost...,but lets hope not cause that would be a really lame way to lose free speech.
