I found the simulation of the entire flight interesting, even though nothing much happens in the first half. Near the end the plane is clearly going into a phugoid cycle. Why didn't the pilots realize what the plane was doing?

@ExiledStardust i think the pilot was over welmed by the idea of stalling and forgot his training. that is to pitch nown, increase thrust and if needed decent to increase speed. he did the opposite he continued to increase the angle of attack too much thus it came impossable to avoid the stall... this taining starts from ppl, so it should be a stinct to pitch nown etc..

Someone answer this question for me. First, at 120mph didn't anyone on the plane feel how slow it was going (including the crew)? Second, with 40-degrees nose up, didn't anyone feel that either? I'm curious to know. Interesting to see the position of the plane throughout the vid. The only inaccuracy was when it was going down it severely pitched and rolled before it landed tail first.

This video is accurate. What puzzles me is the fact that in all evidence it really seems the PF screwed. He paniced by thinking "nose up, so we don't go down" and when finally added thrust, he kept pulling nose up, when he should've leveled and sped up. There must've been shakes, panic & such in a plane. That would be an excuse to an amateur, but NOT for a pilot!
