I've been doing mountain climbers and other various calisthenics for years (makes up 50% of our 4 hour wrestling practice) I'm also majoring in Phys Ed, if you want a more challenging variation of mountain climbers: starting in push-up position, go down to the ground, hold that position and flare your knees out to the sides of your body. Also, make sure to keep your head up when doing mountain climbers; don't look down, it'll give you a better workout.

he is correct. there are only two things you can do, gain or lose muscle. toning usually refers to losing the fat surrounding the muscle to make it look better.

Please don't use the word "tone". There's no such thing. You can lose fat and gain muscle, but there's no such thing as "toning".
