Jesus told Mary not to touch him, after he risen, for he has not ascended to his Father(John 20:17) Jesus was separated from the Father. Jesus said My God, My God why haste thou forsaken me because my sin was on him. God the Father was not going to remember it as the east is from the west. He paid my death debt.
Tony C. thanks for clearing up what Jesus said on the cross. I reread what I've read many times and couldn't understand. It's so clear now. I wish you were around close enough so I could hear you preach all the time. Thanks Mark for having people like Tony C on the videos. I really like this. You two are the greatest.
Wow, what an incredible explanation that Tony gave to that question! I just love Tony, he is awesome and I love his books also. I can't decide on a favorite cause they are all so great. I would love to sit down with Tony and pick his brain, and Mark's too for that matter. I love the way they think. And ditto to CAKath, the Mark Lowry Vocal Band is magnificent. I absolutely love that song... The Hollywood DVD is one of my favorites, well, what am I saying, they are all my favorites. LOL..
Love this video... I've been a huge fan of Tony's since I was in college and they showed 4 of his films in chapel. I knew that what Jesus quoted was Psalm 22 but never thought about it that way before... I love learning new stuff like this. Thanks Mark and Tony!
I'm sorry I keep commenting but this was one of my favs. What would we do without brilliant men of God to explain difficult scriptural concepts to obtuse people like me? I'm thankful Mr. Campolo allows God to reveal these to him. He said he wakes up in the morning and before he gets out of bed, he repeats Jesus, Jesus, Jesus over and over to get his mind on Him. I try that and fall back asleep. : (
I had it expained to me that that's when God turned His back on Jesus because He couldn't look on all the sin of the world Jesus had taken on. I like Mr. Campolo's explanation better.
I remember the first book of his I read,this will show my age,was The Success Fantasy,it's a great book.Then I read The Power Delusion and on and on,I admit it I was hooked.But my personal favorite would have to be The Power Delusion,I know Mark's read it,has anyone else?Thanks Mark!

He does not just speak gems of life, he speaks fathoms of life application & as today saying NEVER STOP SHORT WHEN READING THE WORD. Read the WHOLE thing, hear the WHOLE thing & strive to live & speak the WHOLE thing. Whew, tall order & it's all a process of 'becoming'. I Love Tony Campolo!
