I have a MPC and Motif running Pro Tools/Reason Rewire...I have all my channels and tracks setup on the MPC and in Pro Tools/Reason Rewired in Pro Tools...My problem is that when I select a instrument in reason and try to trigger the factory sounds, no sound comes out...What am I doing wrong?

for some reason when i do this. after i plug my instrument into the hardware interface i have to press on the transport track, because if i have my instrument selected in reason, sound records doubled on pro tools. I don't know why.

Great video! Very helpful. I have a question. When i record midi into pro tools, my note are always slightly off. How can i fix that? It gets recorded with a slight delay. I have to manually go in and move the midi recording to match the temp. It drives me crazy. How can i fix this? Thanks

@GMAN1589 it would be way easy if you just get the mbox2 u have the real midi ins n outs plus audio ins n outs too... all the usb connecting tends to complicate things unless your going strictly virtual.

When I set the instrument in the instrument track to ReDrum I hear double notes playing. I assume both pro tools and reason are playing the same note and so it plays the same note twice. Is there any way to fix this problem?

I have a protools M-powered 8 that im going to be using as vocals and guitars are concerned. now lets say i record a vocal track from protools, and i went to send this vocal track to my reason 5 , with all the stuff that it has. How would I be able to get that vocal track from protools and send it to reason 5 so I can play around with it? (And I know Reason 5 has record 1.5, but I want to use my audio interface box for my shure sm58 mic for better vocal quality).

But when i rewire these programs. It keeps tellin me that the midi port is in use.

also you might want to make sure you in and out puts in reason is already set up.

you might want to make your reason rack first so you know what sounds you want first (lot less trouble)

i would make a aux track ( alows you to make the midi tracks in to audio easier) and then just choose midi track instead of instrument

P.S. you can then put plugin on the audio (from the midi tracks) (easer to bounce it to a disk)

you have to buy pro tools. Pro tools only works with a pro tools compatible interface. So you can't download it off a torrent or anything like that. =) you gotta pay to play homie. =)

In Pro Tools, record as MIDI (create an INSTRUMENT track, not an audio track, as shown in the video). Then if you want to create raw audio out of that, you could bus it to a new AUDIO track and record.

I'll try and cover bussing and routing in Pro Tools in a future video.

sure its possible, but doesn't offer a lot of flexibility for mixing. It's also kind of a pain to export / import each instrument individually.

But to answer your question, yes you could import any audio into pro tools tracks to mix.

i have a question. do you think it is bad to export the tracks and then import them into PT. because i make the beat in reason but the person i record with doesnt have reason on his mac so rewire isnt going to work. im just looking for a good clean radio mix..
