  • A classic by balamurali Krishna

  • Thank You.but what happend to last charanams sahityam?

  • HARI BOL!! Good Work!

  • The essential ingredient of this keerthana is humility and "Bhakthi". BMK has got it right in this video. There is no arrogance, haughtiness or "holier than thou" attitude in this raga elaboration. Great work! Thank you "dartdisah" for uploading this classic BMK version of this Pancharatna kriti!!

  • my pleasure! thanks for the comment!

  • balamurali krishnajeekku iniyum 100 vayasu kodukkane rama

  • Thats probably the best rendition of this krithi. One that comes near is that of Nagayya.

  • i agree. With Nagayya's rendition, you get the real feel of devotion and the agony of true Vaishanavite longing..

  • @dartdisah I think, Nagayya was first followed by this and then SPB. Just my assessment. I am not that much into music. Just a normal "kalaposhakudini".

  • @dartdisah Dwaitamu sukhama advaitamu sukhama !!!!

  • Thanks for uploading such a nice keerthana.

  • only balamurali cn do this miracle!

  • thank you :)

  • hi..loved this :) can you please tell me which collection this is from? Is it from the great masters series? the rendition sounds a lil different. thanks

  • this is from an album (a cassette actually) i bought, called "Tyagaraja Pancha Ratna Kritis" by MBK.

  • @dartdisah I think there is one more stanza left.. can it be uploaded as Part 2 of the same please

  • a really gr8 composition!

can any 1 post all d pancha ratna keertis.pls

  • A beautiful composition rendered masterfully by Shri Balamurali in his inimitable style.Truly fabulous.

  • If you love this , you might also look up the songs from the film "SOPANAM" and you will be amazed also by the rendition of "SADHINICHANAE: bu KJyesudas, with Sesshagopalan.. Enjoy the best!!!

  • yes, that is great. Sadhimchene from 'Sopanam' is beautifuly rendered by both

  • my fav....

    DBVSarma.

  • Comment removed

  • sexy is not the tern to describe it mann :)

  • maybe you can take your comment off too...lol!

  • This is my favourite Karnatic composition. I love the austere ragas...Sri, Bhairavi, Todi, Kharaharapriya, Abheri etc....so noble, so sublime. The best interpretation I've heard of this one is by Ariyakuddi Ramanuja Iyengar, which I have on a worn out audiocassette. It's very raw and muscular and he belts it out at a frantic pace. Astonishing.

  • This is so beautiful to hear....

  • hey dartdisa, thanks for posting this man. do you have the later half of the song. this is one of the all time best songs in carnatic music.

  • sorry for the late reply. i do have the entire song mp3.

  • where can I download the entire song - sung by balamurali krishna.

  • these guys like songlvr1, they just blabber out of their stupidity. We dont have to take it emotionally. Agreed that this open to every one, and every one can post their opinion, but arent we missing the divine music in these stupid trifles. Lets ignore these guys.

  • Guys is it possible to get the A.R Rahman version of this song..i like this always, and i'm exited to know A.R.Rahman's version on this

  • guys just shut up an enjoy the music.!!!!!!!!!!

  • it makes no sense to comment BMK and don't ever try to compare with Jesudas as both are from different genres, Tyagaraja has composed his kritis in Telugu and BMK is a Telugu and songlvr1 you know abt yesudas right and he is no exception for music he is just a part , we have due respect for Yesudas and Music is from SAMAVEDHA which is divine and you are not qualified to criticise anyone or you are not licensed,

  • well I would not comment on the BMK seeing the god or emotionally elated.

However, I would like to argue with songlvr1 about discriminating male singers vs female singers. Also, I do not see, how based on "gender" of singer, the great sea of Carnatic music can be judged as good or not?

Well, all the major composers, at least I know of are men.

No offense meant, but I do not approve of songlvr1's comment.

    May god bless us all!

  • I do differ with what is being said.I have been listening to carnatic music for sometime now and have done some thinking about it...I believe the objective of something as pure and as divine as carnatic music is take people into the world of 'bhakti yoga'. It doesnot have to do anything with the voice at all...Voice is just a medium...However from the song and from the emotions of the singer, one can easy figure out if the singer saw god in the song.I have every reason to believe that BMK did.

  • This is one masterpiece of Carnatic music, for no Western music can overcome it, even for next hundreds of years!

  • don't be that biased

  • @ josephpadamadan

I know you couldn't digest the truth.

  • i agree the western music has its own glorious moments, but the bhakthi sangeetha of the Tyagaraja era is something out of this world. of course, each of us have our own special that take us into the light from darkness. Pancharatna Kirtanas are definitely soul-liberating, for people like me.

  • @songlvr1 - realize that the 'acrobatics' you mentioned in your comment is also a part of the carnatic music rendition. When, BMK sings in a 'not so open voice', listen at which scale he is singing and see who else is able to reach that note, then critizise. (Each singer has his/her range and voice qualities)

  • you r probably the first person i came across that does not like BMK. Do u have any idea how taloented he is? we do not even qualify to criticize him. listen to his music, if u like it, listen to more songs, if u don't like stop listening to his music. Don't go around the web posting coments about him. now if u can prove u r as talented as him, then u can comment all you want. Don't take this the wrong way. I am not being rude or anything. Hope you understand.

  • Sure, all carnatic musicians don't have the same kind of voice, which brings in their vocal talent as well as their knowledge of music, sahitya and the way they perform. These are the aspects that also contribute to making the performer great. MBK has contributed a lot of Carnatic music.

  • Just amazing song.. My sincere regards for the uploader..!! Thanks friend.
