This isn't based in reality but what we want to be true. id rather cling to the idea then accept reality cause if you do why are you still breathing at all.
@david10322 Babylon 5 was really high on drama. In reality it's far less dramatic, you don't have to be under threat of being physically interrogated and tortured and killed for this to have a point.
@ertyqwer though of course you also have to keep in mind that season 5 was a bit of compromise all along, due to the filming budget going back and forth. None of this was even supposed to happen in the original story, but then he had to wrap it all up in season 4, because he was told there won't be any funds to finish season 5 properly. And then he got the funding anyways, and had to quickly come up with something else to show.
This is my favorite episode in the whole series, not because it is pleasant to watch, but because it is one of the few treatments of torture on entertainment television that is realistic and at the same time unsympathetic. Bravo! If everybody watched this maybe the dialog on the matter in our country would be better.
powerful scene

But in the real life he would be broken. All this philosophy is trash in real life

Once they break your spirit, and will, they've won. Hang on to your absolute hatred for your interrogators, it CAN give you strength.

Those 2 episodes are quite disturbing perhaps the greatest
acting in the whole series.

Staged or not, seeing a broken Drazi is pretty disturbing

No, he was actually in on it. He's also an interrogator.

@Leuthesius how could the drazi be in it when clark's goverment was against aliens?....
LordAzanko 1 year ago
@LordAzanko Some aliens worked for Clarke. He was a puppet of the Shadows after all. Nothing in this series is black and white.

@LordAzanko "No one here is exactly what he appears." - G'Kar to Catherine Sekai in Season 1
One of the first indications of his decency of character.
