Nice video Doug, I really enjoy watching all of your vids and I learn quite a bit from you. I should have my solar panel video up soon, I'm almost done with the tracking stand and battery box....anyway thanks for sharing
Doug, nice vid. Quick question, wouldn't it be better to have 9 coils? Reason being is this way you could have a 3 phase stator (which is what I've seen as the standard in many of these DIY stator vids). From what I understand 3 phases makes the power produced more stable. Just a thought. How's the garden btw? Keep up the great work.
nice job on the video doug.I look foward to the next videos.I hope it works out great for you.I put up a windmax turbine it does not give me the great feeling that my DIY turbine did I miss looking out and seeing something I created.I loved the wood blades that the mudd man showed us all how to carve.good to see a new video from you.TAKE CARE.and keep up the great work
I actually think the weight method is off man. You apply the glue by hand without controlling its weight. So you actually have no way to tell which there is "extra" of, glue or wire, between each coil. Know what I'm saying?
You are right, but the weight of the glue is negligible compared to the copper wire. Nice video, I tried making my own coils, but I didn't manage to have a good result. The wire I used was too thick --> more convolutions --> coil is way to big. If I am going to make my own coils, I will use this method.
@rhesuspieces81 I actually weigh them as I get close to the end of the winding before I add the glue, Sorry that part got cut out, maybe I will show it on the next one. Thanks for your comment
that black thing from your drum kit is from a cymbal stand on the top were you put the cymbal isnt it

Great vid. You might put a fishing reel handle on that coil winder to make it easier on your hand. Two thumbs up and a new subscriber.
