Before WW2, US was in recession. Then it learned that the formula out of recession was war. WAR created jobs of millions of Americans, created new technologies that gave US the best products with which to trade and dominate world commerce. She hasn't looked back since. But here is the Aproblem of that strategy: natural & human resources cannot sustain the cost of war . Eventually, the costs overtook the benefits. Unless the US learns to profit from world peace, it will end up like Nazi Germany

The average estimate for the number of people systematically killed in the USSR is around 62 million. (High estimate being 120+ million, low estimate being around 25 million). Concerning just the case of the nuclear bomb, please just realize that, although France, Germany and Britain had plans to develop atomic weapons as soon as 1939, noone had the large scale industrial capacity of building an isotope-separation plant and other factories to actually manufacture the bomb, as the USA did out of bombers' range, while producing all other types of weapons.
