@bertbouw Thanks Bert. I enjoyed playing it. Your last posting ("Greystone") using the resonator guitar inspired me to drag my National guitar out of its case and dig out my bottleneck slide from the bottom of a drawer. I hope to post a resonator tune early in 2011, as soon as I can get my slide playing to sound as clean as yours!
@klarifoon Thanks John. I'd like to think that the listener enjoys listening as much as I enjoy playing it. This is a fun tune to play and very representative of Fahey's style. One thing about Fahey is that he rarely played a tune the same way twice. This makes it easier for those of us who cover his tunes since all we have to do is get the main melody down..... then we can throw in our own interpretation and not worry so much about being "accurate" since there is no "right way" to play it.
@birkenweg42 Thanks Christian. Your observation about this tune is quite accurate. I especially like the tune's dissonance, which is very common in Fahey's music. Not many artists are comfortable with dissonance in their music, but John seems to enjoy making the listener squirm a bit with his unusual "harmonies". This tune may be somewhat of a metaphor for John's life.... Always trying to be happy but never quite getting there.
I enjoyed that!

Who enjoys this most...the player or the listener?
Very well done!

That's a nice cover of one of my favorite Fahey tunes. Well done!
I love the dissonance; it's almost as if this song tries to be a happy one but can't quite make it. Thanks for posting.
