I can't stand it cold, it disguises the taste. Extra Cold tends to be a fad that I don't understand. I also prefer the non-draught, the original bottled Guinness. Steak and Guinness pies are great by the way.

Guinness rock's... your pouring was a bit messy.. put open end of can close to glass pour slow.. real slow.. if you like Guinness from a can you will love it from the tap... (the cold one is the best) Oh by the way you don't need Guinness with food.. it is food!!! I'm so with you man, I'm craving a Guinness can more than sex right now. I love the creamy head and I try to almost take a bite of the head with each hearty gulp. I pour mine the same way but I want a good inch of head. I do think it's a bit watery so I found a way to make it better with 1/4 of the glass of another stout that I love and it mixes well and is a beer from the Gods.

Regular Guinness is to bitter for me. i really like the Guinness Black lager. but i prefer rice beers. Sopporo is an example of a good rice beer.

@MrKlondikefrog the canned stuff is nothing more than a bud light equivalent with guinness flavoring syrup added to it. If it's not from the keg its not really guinness.

@reggiefavre I think it's funny that Guinness is the only beer people try to make this distinction with. Yeah there is a difference in Draft and bottle or can. Pasteurization is the difference. I hardly believe that Guinness changes so much from draft to bottle. If you choose to believe that, ok keep repeating. Or you could go and read about the changes made to Guinness many moons ago that made it what it is today.

@michaelhpedersen no the difference is that when you drink it from the can, it isn't even a stout.. It's just a light lager with guiness flavoring extract added to give it flavor. I'm not saying I don't like it. It's still good, but it really isn't the true flavor and quality that comes out of a keg.

The Draught version is a pussified stout. Tastes way too watery and drinks like water. The Extra version is far superior IMO.

Dude you need to have it from the factory, 100 times better than the can. Go to the top of the factory in Ireland and you can see for miles around Dublin and they draw a little shamrock in the head :)

I used to drink a ton of Guinness, it was my session beer. It's funny to me how it's reputed to be some big, bad, bold, meal in a glass. There's less than 200 calories in a pint, less that 130 in a bottle. That's close to light beer my friends. It does have great flavor, but despite it's reputation I find it very easy to drink. A good gateway into the world of fine beer, but once you move on I doubt you'll go back.

@SETexasCustoms The reason it has it's reputation as such is because it is a very heavy beer to drink on your stomach. Stouts are thick, not like a typical lager. So after a few real pints, you'll start to feel it in your belly quite a bit.

Hey man, sorry I gotta disagree with you here. I tried the "extra stout first and loved it. Mind you, I am a very strong dark beer advocate and have tried numerous dark beers. I was very impressed by the Extra Stout. However, I then immediately opened a Draught and almost gagged. Very watered down to say the least. No distinct Guinness Flavor as everyone keeps talking about. To anybody seeing this review, heed my warning. If your gonna try a Guinness, ONLY try the Extra Stout.

You gotta try Guinness in europe. I have drunk Guinness in the US and have drunk it in my Ireland (Co. Kerry REPRESENT). You just can't compare the taste, the US version is so bitter and in Ireland is REALLY smooth while still holding that dark beer taste.

look for cans of guinness original instead of draught , its got a much stronger flavour , also if your feelig unwell or tired..etc try a can of guinness draught with a teaspoon of blackcurrant cordial in a glass , its also good for breast feeding mothers

you're supposed to pour it about 80-90% of the way first, let it settle for a minute or so, then top it up with the rest, usually at an angle

any beer is better than anything from Bud-Miller-Coors their so close to water its pathetic. i wouldnt even call those 3 beer. they are made with extremely low quality ingredients. the way i see it is u should be able to drink a good beer when its warm and taste every aspect of it. down to the hops. problem with domestic beer is its cheap and cheap for a reason. in other words you get what you pay for. most people are content with it but personaly their too close to water for my taste
