My beta fish has one eye that is HUGE I just noticed this and it is in like a bubble is there a medicine for a eye infection that could go in the water

@jekeogh18 I hope you found an answer to your problem and that your fish is doing well, but if you didn't you should look up the symptoms of pop-eye. A few of my fish have had it. one or both of the eyes will swell and become "misty" or fogged. You can pick up a treatment that you add to the water at petsmart. Be sure to remove the carbon from your filter during treatment.

Sorry friend, you don't seem to know; fin rot is from an abundance of bacteria (not beneficial) occuring in an aquarium, normally this isn't a problem but when the fish gets part of its fin cut or is suffering from stress then it will get fin rot, it isn't a cancer at all. If any fish decease was cancer it would be dropsy, ich isn't at all like small pocks and is more a chicken pox.

Omg this is weird i just got a brand new 29gal tank. I put my fish in there and white stuff is growing on them and over the eyes. Idk what it is because its a brand new tank i dont think it has bacteria in it or something.. Someone help pleaseeeeeee some of my fish already died.

Your fish was probably already sick when you purchased him. Buy some BettaFix or MelaFix (what i'm using right now, since my Betta also has Columnaris.) Put a teaspoon in there for every ten gallons. Repeat this for 7 days; after 7 days make a 25% water change and continue the treatment if you need too.

@11Rbrre11 Maybe it's the ick, You can ask your pet store about the issue There should be medicean in the store were you bought your betta. I had the same problem >_> We were too cheap to buy the medicean my fish needed... We just used salt in his water and it helped, He had a HUGE white spot on his back, If your betta has already died or is still living god bless him :) From: Cassi&Cherish The Fish.

just put in lifegaurd for every 5 gallons of water for 5 days and no carbon in the filter and on the 6 day put the filter back on.

my old goldfish had dropsy his scails turned black and he wouldn't eat he was floating around he couldn't control his swimming the only thing I could do was keep his tank clean and warm dropsy is a fungus in the kidney or usually a failure mine later died from it

dropsy isone of the few illneses that are incurable culminaris and velvet can be cured with aquarium salt and melafix

3 of my fish died.

Now there is one with his eye almost fallen out.

All I could do was buying medicine. i bought ESHA 2000 and another one for the spot (dont know the english name) illness.

The ESHA 2000 cures about 18 illnesses so it is most likely there's one of your betta's has one of those diseases.

To be sure you should but meds for curing that Spot disease as well.

Don't use a coal filter while using ESHA!

I thought the meds didnt work on my fish. But now I think it does. At least slows it down. The eye of my fish isnt popping out that much anymore.:)

If it can not be cured by medicine, then there's nothing you could do.

Be sure to wear gloves when touching the water of a sick fish! Some could be harmful for human beings as well.

i think my fish just died....

its tail started to rot 3 days and turned black overnight. i was only able to try water changes. i didnt have time to try anything else. he was my first betta and its really depressing. i only had him for a week and two days and from the first day i got him he didnt want to eat. the one thing he bit he spit right away. i tried flakes pellets and worms. i got to name it Alpha.

i want to get another one but i want to educate myself first.

actually if this isn't enough oxygen in the water or you have a huge ammonia problem fish will go to the top to breath.Or they'll start "filter sucking". Learn about how a fish works and different probs and diseases and your see that fish can die from drowning.

AWW DAMN. I have a female, she can't swim properly, so I've been moving her to the top of the tank to get air. although I can't do this all day, do you think I can put her on a "raft" to stay moist and breathe air? I have medication in the water.

Dear all people with sick fish,

dont flush it down the tolet or whatever you do unless you have triend everything. there are lots of medication that can help it if you find the illness. like if your fishes fins are together then there decaying, you can go to the petstore and get some medcine if you tell them whats wrong and usually you find the right medication and you,ll fish is back to ricovery.
