1:51 - 2:20 is the most beautiful part of this song. The harmonies are so lush, as is the instrumentation. I love the subtle strings that back the guitars. The drum rhythm is fucking on point, too. I get goosebumps every time I hear that section. Great song.

watching royal tanenbaums in the theatre, couldn't get Needle in the Hay out of my head for days, had to look it up, couldn't get enough of his music, bought all his albums. Then he goes and dies. His death was devastating. I wish I could have met him before it happened and told him how much he meant to me.

my first elliott smith song was angeles. i heard it in paranoid park. i went and looked it up the minute the movie ended. that song is still one of my favorites, though it's hard to really pick a favorite because all of elliott's songs are so good.
