Last week in a record shop in Camden, happened accross a certain album: 'B & G Rhythm', a rare one off, with production by Wayne Henderson, featuring a line-up of heavyweight players, including Steve.
One of the tracks, 'Hibaros', I'd heard on the radio around ten years ago, luckily I'd been taping at the time and so have enjoyed ever since, (even dj talking all through the extended drum solo.)
Now I have the final piece of the musical puzzle..
The female that sang with the group is Helen Lowe. She married the former road manager for Heatwave James Baylor and now she is known in the Gospel music arena as Helen Baylor. She has had a very successful Gospel music career, but before she became a Christian and started singing for God, she sang background for Rufus feat. Chaka. Go to side effects "always there" for the real vocal verison
I remember checking out this LP about 15yrs ago at the library and recording it on my old beat up stereo (lol!)...is this available on CD yet? I'd love to have a better quality version...
Wow, that was a treat. Thanks for uploading. Peace
