Wow, he sounds so much like Ray Price it's scary. I've been hearing this song on Willie's Roadhouse and I each time have to look who's singing it as it sounds so much like Ray Price. Now I'll have to check out his other music as Ray is my favorite.
a great song performed by a great country singer. My uncle had this album when I was young and would play along on his electric guitar. Thanks for the great memory and the great Real Country Voice
Somewhere between the greed for money and sound judgment, the legends of country music were tossed aside for the outlandish sound they call country music today.

Yes I heard that Canadian (real) Country is better.
Hey Tony....happy to see you're still doing it.and doing it so good!!!!!! I 'll never forget when you came to the Maverick in N. Highlands with Jimmy Snyder..I ended up married to Buddy McDonel........we were and still are big fans of yours, and Jimmy Snyder.....LaRae was my cousin.......if you ever get to Washington State, we'll come see you, "Pearl"
Tony's brother is named Larry and was a Bass Player at a Night Club named Harry's Capri. (The House Band was called: The Westernaires) in Phoenix, Az. back in the late 1960's and early 70's.
AN old Friend from the hill country honky tonks ,I will always enjoy hearing Tony and the band play dance hall music,,hope to see him an all the old crew at the wichita falls western swing festival this year,,,Don
Country Music is still alive and well, I recommend you to listen to the likes of Bobby Flores,Justin Trevino, Leona Williams, Amber Digby, Vernon Oxford, Billy D. Hunter. Curtis Potter, Billy Keeble, Ann Brown, Bruce Haynes,Ken Holloway, Darrell McCall, Mona McCall and this guy Tony Booth just to name a few.
When Country started to die in the late 60's due to the British invasion and Nashville companies who wouldn't support artists who sold less than huge numbers of records, a lot of country guys moved to Billings, Mt, Casper, Wy & Rapid City, SD where the oil boom was on & real Country Music still filled the honky tonks 7 nights a week. Tony came to Billings and played in Jack Vaughn's band at the Club 17. I played at the talent nights and occasionally got hired to play fiddle with them.
I love this man; have loved him for years!! Great to hear his music again!! Wonderful capture of a great singer; he's a superstar in my eyes! :) You GO, Tony!! :D
Great question! I just hope the ones that have "heard" of him care. I'd almost bet that they don't. They know who's picture is on a hundred, I'd bet. Bring back that the real country!!
I have an idea who Harlan Howard is, from having seen his name mentioned in "Country Style" Magazine. He's a songwriter who wrote several country songs, many of them hits.
Tony is a fantastic entertainer!! Love his voice!

You've got that right about so-called "country" music of today. It's NOT country. I remember Tony at The Alvin Opry. He always did a fabulous job!
