@mobradovic00 If you glue two sheets of gift tissue on top of each other you get double tissue. And yes, that's a good paper to work with. A single sheet will probably be too light.
Awesome!!! I finally made my scorpion!!! Thank you sooo much!!! Anyways, Sara, Do you know any models that are arounf this "Complexidy" range??? 'if so, please list some... I really want to fold something not too hard, but not too easy... Thanks!!! =DDD
@matthewmeager11 In general or amongst my videos? It's a bit hard to tell, because the main difficulty of folding this model from video is - well, the quality of the video, not the fold itself. A similarly low-quality video with a model of similar complexity would be the one I made on Rober Lang's sea urchin. ;) - Amongst my better videos these are of similar (maybe slightly lower) complexity: Valentine by Robert Lang, Last Waltz by Neal Elias, and the Jack in a Box by Hugo Pereira
hooray!! i have finally made one! i probably paused about 40 times though, i am so happy! i had tried and failed at the third video about 5 times, and i've now completed it! thank you so much!
the best origami instructional video on youtube...thank you very much! I have recently purchased "origami in action" by robert lang, and there is a model in it for a strumming guitarist...do you think it would be possible to get his permission to post an instructional video on that model? i really need some help with it. please help!!!!! ;-)
It's probably possible to get permission. However, I don't have that book and don't know how to fold the model. So I probably won't be the one to make a video on it, I fear.
This is amazing but it reminds me why I don't do origami more often. For the love of God, don't let the video skip ahead or have a pre-creased sheet that only you can move quickly with. It took me 2 and a half hours of pause, backup, pause, backup to figure things out when you did that.
Also, you said fold in half at the beginning but (ruler to the screen) I think you mean thirds... *mumbling angrily*
All that aside though... pretty darn cool and I was able to successfully complete it.
I saw on ur website that you can make Kamiya Satoshi's Ancient Dragon! I also realize that making a video on it wud take wayyyyy too long. Can you make a video on the hard parts? cause im stuck sort of on it...... :P lol
Absolutely AMAZING Sara. I'm a newbie at Origami; have made a few things. Even own 2 of Mr. Langs books. But, watching you go from start to finish on this Scorpion - what a treat. This is WAY over my head for now, but I was just fascinated watching you build this. I do hope you will share more on here Sara. Thank you SO MUCH.
It was interesting to see myself giving a presentation. It makes you realise what you have to do differently - and possibly what you can keep doing. I'm aiming for not being ill the next time, that's for sure. :)
do you have any book u can suggest for origami beginners? Not too beginners that is? actually i am mba student. on vacation these days. so i am having fun with your online origami session. but alas i am unable to follow at certain part.
i have made every modol that you have thank you lol you are the best.............but this one i cant and i can make....the dragon in flight but not this one so yah here is try number 199 realy that is how meny times i have tried i get slost in the 3 vid
Possibly, if you comment on the 3rd part, with what's causing you problems (including the time in the video the step is performed) I can help you out.
I made one , and yes I got all the steps , well allmost , I got a little lost at the pincures I guess , it's just that mine looks dead ..... I made it out of pink wrappingpaper , thats really flappy , maybe that has something to do with it ???
thank you for showing us how ! but any advice on that ?
Wrapping paper is usually quite flappy, as you say. I agree it's not as suitable. The nicest scorpion so far I folded from normal origami paper (not gummed or anything). I've also used foil, which makes the folding process easier. Especially when going small foil paper comes in handy. I haven't tried paper smaller than 15 cm, though. :)
wow, i got lost on second base, i just didn't get it!! to bad i really want to do it! anyway, really nice work, but how the hell did u get the tiny scorpions???? i mean i started tripping on secondvideo because of small folding, DAMN!!!!
Ah, well, the smaller you go, the more precisely you have to fold. You'll also have to know how to fold the model already. Like that you don't have to look at the model to check what's happening next. Instead you just go through the folding sequence you know is necessary. Does that make sense at all?
@adamssara I made it, took me two days and it looks perfect!!!!!!!!!
