Hi all of you, i need some help, id like to build a machine that can press powder, using hydraulic cylinder, and since im new at this, what else do i need besides the hydraulic cilinder, how can i make it work , and can i vary the speeds. Thank you so much.
Nice work can you teach me how to make it, I recycle cardbaord and is hard to transport the cardboard with out baling it and this it will be a good Idea to make.
can you make a video on how to make it? thank you for your help.
congrats on it man, LOOKS GREAT! now could you please please post any plans or tips on building one? may not be hydraulic though. i just want to compact my garbaje. i dunno the english word but u can make one compactor like the ones they used to press people heads as torture in the middle ages (sorrry cant thing of a better example LOL :DDD grats
This is a low pressure system. the pump that I am running is 700 PSI which equates to approximately 3400lbs. the cylinder is about 2 1/2" bore. I am in the process of building a horizontal compactor so look for it in a few days to a week.
wow thats so good im really impressed how it crushes a few card board boxes and it looks so solid maybe you could sent it to blue peter it looks like a 30 second build LOL
The wood about 50.00. The plexiglass door about 15.00. The cylinder is from a local hydrualic shop for 30.00. The pump was 175.00 for 3/4 gal/min flow. The single most expensive item was the valve. It is a BLB 3 spool 3 way 2 position valve, and costs 265.00. My advice to you is to check with local shops as they usually have all kinds of parts that they either dont use or dont need and can sell cheap. Anything else let me know, and let me know if you decide to build one, we can share ideas.
This was a preliminary design. I wanted to make sure the pump & cylinders were adequate. The one I am working on will be similar to a baler, but will also have (2) cylinders on each side at the bottom to push inward. You are right about the railing. The new one will have steel angles for the verticals and steel bars that will ride inbetween the angles to keep the side to side motion out. If you have anything else please let me know.

Are you building a bailer style compactor? If you add a rail support to the ram face, the unit should stay parallel to the stroke
