  • but see, this is part of what really draws me to the dead. they got caught up, they weren't perfect. and, in bobby's defense, he would have had to sing this song way too fast. it already requires a pretty fast delivery at a normal tempo.

  • lawl I love wier, smoooooth

  • the musical principle is simple. bob was trying to slow down a lighting tempo which would've required him to sing way too fast, asking this of the band is akin to trying to slow down a train at full speed. great save by the entire band who know each other sooooo well, and with mastery, melted to a stop/restart

  • It was like Billy and Mickey were going into drumz or something. "To bad Bob, we are going to have our say first:" Haha

  • Bobby couldn't just wait an extra second until he remembered the words, and the rest of the band couldn't just let it go !!! I was in the hallway on this night laughing my ass off !!!!!!

  • @samjessin....I hear you....I don't know how many shows you saw in 1987, but good lord was that song overplayed, LOL

  • Love me some Bobby!

  • This appears to be all about the tempo - was real quick the first time - then slowed considerably. Seems like a reasonable correction by bob to me.

  • Looks like it that time of the month for Bobby!

  • Ha Ha Brent .... *crashes* piano - awesome . Thanks for posting .

  • jerry garcia sing hell in a bucket

is better because i have in the dark

tape and this other guy ok but should

have left the snging to jerry

  • @jcnnegrette huh?

  • @jcnnegrette Uh. The "other guy" is Bobby Weir. He, uh, wrote the song and yes, he sang it on the album (note singular) that you might have... and yes, it sounded about the same although polished like any studio recording. Perhaps your opinion would have bearing if it were... now what is the polite way of saying it? Educated? Yes. I am sure that's it. Educated. Can you say, "I left my English in San Francisco?
