it happens before FF7. When Zack is still alive and Cloud isnt even a solider. There's a "degradation". Scientists are playing around with human bodies as expiraments. In Crisis Core Sephiroth is also still good because he doesnt know about his creation yet. Genesis is another Soldier who, due to an incident when duelling against Sephiroth, was injured and started to 'degrade'. Basically you fight against Genesis monsters cuz he went crazy.

Mena Suvari was dull, very unlike Aeris and just didn't have the same bounce or interest that Aeris has as a character. Andrea Bowen captured all the elements that make up Aeris and also is very reminiscent and similar to Maaya Sakamoto who is the ultimate of all Aeris voices.

Nothing beats Sakamoto, but Bowen was brilliant.

I am okay with Andrea Bowen as young Aerith, but I really liked Mena Suvari as adult Aerith in advent children. If they ever remade the old game they should stick with the advent children voice cast. and cloud's voice is all set, Steve Burton enjoys being cloud. Zack's voice in this game was good, it suited him well.

Funny...her new voice actress's name is Andrea, which was the first name I named her first playing through FF7. It was my mom's name also.

she sounds quite good here...a bit too high pitched (even for a younger girl ^^)... if she could sound a bit more...'dreamlike' it'd be perfect.

The 90's was the era of mistransliteration and mistranslation. Square figured out around the time of Kingdom Hearts, that in order for her name to be the way they precieved it, they'd have to change it.

I kinda like Aerith's sound. That isn't Mena Suvari though, is it? It doesn't sound like her. This voice still sounds uber girly but authentic ... not fake and forced like Mena's was. I can't tell. If it is her, well, then I say she improved.

And I agree. Zack is good and Cloud is amazing. Steve Burton (JASON!) has done very well keeping it real and entertaining. Can't wait to play this game.

Same here, maybe the pitch of her voice since Aerith is younger now? Thats what I thought, but I hope if they remake FF7 she will have the one in AC.
