It seems to me that company's have already started laying off people, without an increase in taxes. Gas prices has gone down about 25% FOOD HAS GONE DOWN 0%. the increase in price was supposed to be in part to gas prices. Please educate me if I am missing something, I believe that most companies don't give a flying F**K about people in America.

A note about socialism: It's generally thought that the fall of the Berlin wall solidified capitalism as the best guiding framework in this era. While this is the case it's also important to admit that every well run free-market economy is supported in many ways by socialist principles and practices. And FYI, Singapore runs, or at least was created via developmental capitalism in which the government played a DIRECT ROLE in creating excellent sustaining industries. (post, communications, etc)

But if you look at SingPost or any of the recently privatized financial firms (which you'll notice were missing from the headlines during this crisis) they've all done very well for themselves. well.. tpm is mostly about politics. and it should be noted that there are still a lot of questions about the syrian raid as far as I know. Military says we killed an important "terrorist importer", while syria says we got a family, a farmer and his wife, and a fisherman." To me this is just WTF. there was either a mistake by the US somewhere or syria isnt being completely honest. i dont doubt there may have been collateral casualties but i have enough faith to believe that wasnt their plan.
