It's a 1979 Special model. The Special basically had a few extra goodies like raised bars etc, all of shich is now gone from mine anyway. A guy here in Oz made up the hardtail section, I had a mate tig weld it onto the frame. The motor is stock except for the pod filters which will let it breathe a bit better and at least for now I'll leave it that way.
Hi mate! I replied to your message the other day too, did you get that? I got the wheels on today and it's starting to take shape nicely. I will shoot another vid soon to update the project.
When you finish it will they let you back in your club so you can go back to spending all your time in a forum instead of outside on the highway? Man I checked that BIR out for a while but I was bored out of my mind. Probably didn't help that none of them live anywhere close to me. Anyway, glad to see you've got another cool bike in the works.
Nice to see you got another bike mate, even though its a Jap. One of the best engines they made though I love um. But can you still be a 'Rocker' on a 'Bobber' ? :) Wont your feet point the wrong way.
Well, I'm not gonna have forward controls on it, as no self respecting Rocker will ride with those, heh heh heh...but rear sets might look a bit silly on a bobber.
Good luck

Hey Thunzie
What year is your XS? Old Jap stuff thats worth a damn is hard to find around here, its either wrecked or picked over.
Are You making the Hard Tail section from scratch or modifying an existing frame?
leaving the motor stock or "hopping" it up?
Sorry for all the questions :)...just wondering LOL
