@tolikechicken Supposedly a stall can occur just by firing longer than bursts. Remember the A-10s under undersized GE TF34s only have a thrust of about 9000 pounds per engine...that's not alot when your aircrafts chock full of ordinances..

Why Fairchild decided to go with this turbofan is beyond me, probably having something to do with heat signature. They were perfect for the S-3 recon aircraft, but seems somewhat underpowered for the warthog.

the engines are good enough that only one of them can keep the plane in the air. granted, you won't be doing any combat with only one engine but you'll be able to fly home and land without destroying the plane.

plus, the plane has a big-ass wingspan so you're catching plenty of air. heck, you can even do short distance take-offs. the plane was designed around low speed engagements.

sorry bro. if youve ever seen on of the 30mm PGU-14/B API rounds youd realize how ridiculous your comment sounds. the aircraft carries a max of about 1250 rounds and under continuous fire can exhaust its ammunition in 17 seconds. 15000 30 mm rounds wouldt fit on a c-17 and might even excede the max TOW for the c-17. get your facts straight before you post.
