Hey Sonic im looking for a very strong subwoofer that will literally shake everywhere I pass from and people hear me coming from far away. I am looking for a huge monster sub that people also hear my bass from inside their homes. which sub do you recommend me ? 12 or 15 inch doesnt make any difference, and please an amp for it !
@KingBre99 The HCCA would be an excellent subwoofer to do what you are asking for. Paired with the Orion HCCA25001 would make your car be heard from many blocks away.
would just one of these be good for everyday use or do i need two? (like non competition use cause i wont be doing competition) i love my music loud but i dont wanna get pulled over and told to take them out. i play lots of metal music along with like yelawolf & tech n9ne type stuff so id like to know if its good for that kinda stuff cause ive heard my friends setups and they make like the double bass drumming from say five finger death punch stand out like a mother f***** and it sounds amazing
@Gushize and also im planning on getting a Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D amp and the rms for it is 2100w. so would that be good for it? or would the hifonics hfi2000d be better?
THESE SUBS NEED WAY TO MUCH POWER TO RUN AND ARE WAY INEFFIENT. I SOLD THESE SUBS AND STOPPED CAUSEU JUST CANT GET THEM TO RUN. THE NEW ORION SUCKS AND MORE STORE IS NOT SELLIN IT ANY MORE. IT SAD BUT TRUE
@MrTiagomanuel77 This is possible. What you will have to do is hook up 1 voice coil to each amplifier. You just have to make sure that the gain settings are EXACTLY the same which can be done by daisy chaining the amplifiers through the preamp outputs. However, you will not be able to run at 1 ohm because the voice coils separatly will only achieve a 4 ohm load. You will need 2 amplifiers that are able to produce 1000W RMS @4 omhs not 1 ohm. Hope this helps!
@SonicElectronixTV Actually I would recommend using a pair of strapable 1 ohm amps, wire the coils in series and take advantage of the coupling gained in the strap. Yes they require lots of power, too bad they have shitty output. With the first gen HCCA Drivers I attained a 173.7 in 1999-2000 but, we dumped Orion now that DEI has completely destroyed the strongest American car audio SPL manufacturer ever. Way to go DEI !! Ya killed yet another.
I just got an Orion Hcca 12.2 I had to l7 kicker before this with an ORION XTR 1500.1 and the amp blew them out will my amp be able to power this Orion Hcca?
Hi i would like to buy 2 orion hcca 12.4. will it be good if i use 2 JBL gt 24001 wired in 2 ohms for each subwoofer. in short each sub will be having 2400rms? thanks
@xHockeyPlaya99 The hcca is much louder than the 13w7. The sensitivity of a subwoofer can not be use to compare what sub is louder, they are other factors involved the hcca is a subwoofer that can be compared with a smd sub or digital designs just so you can have an idea how powerful this subwoofers is.
You actually think this is on par with the Ascendant Audio, Fi Car Audio and Digital Designs!?!?! No, no no no, this has to be a joke. You're kidding right??
@txhen1 You would be safe giving them about 2000-2500 watts RMS. Just remember to adjust your gain accordingly if you overpower them by more then this.
@SonicElectronixTV is it fine if I run a orion amp with an orion subwoofer?
I am looking to get 2000 RMS I want to spend 500$ I want the loudest system in town, can you point my in the right direction for a sub and amp orion brand
i have a question, would a Power acoustik BAMF 5500 push a 15'' HCCA w/o damaging either the sub or amp im looking for a amp tht will push the sub well for a low price
@PDArep09 This would not be a good amplifier to run with this subwoofer. Power Acoustik Amplifiers are not CEA compiant so their power ratings are going to be exaggerated. We would recommend going with a Hifonics Brutus BRZ2400.1D. It is around the same price as the BAMF but has CEA compliant power ratings and is overall better quality.
now if you have one of these it will hit. but the sq should be ok enough. is the bass sloppy or something. is sq a nice way of saying your sub dont hit deep.
ok so im thinking on buying 2 12in orion hccas but im debating and really not sure what type of amp to get and what ohm sum to buy. im debating between the Hifonics HFi2000D or the soundstorm ev5000d or 4000. if u could give any input on this it would be a great help thanks.
@samskater101 I would say get the Dual 2 ohm version of the woofers and wired each one to its own amp. Go with two Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D amplifiers. You will 0 gauge power and ground wire, custom enclosures for each woofer, and some external batteries to push the woofers successfully. These woofers are no joke and require some serious components to get them running properly.
@vikkiandbradley07 If you get a strong enough amp for each woofer and wire it correctly then no it won't blow the subwoofer. Honestly not many amplifiers out there that can blow an HCCA sub, those things are 2000 watts RMS. Finding an amp that can power both subs at the same time is going to be difficult, and you definitely don;t want to underpower them by too much. I mean you can give each woofer 1500W RMS and be actually you can probably do 1300W and still be ok but will be under performing.
my friend had a 10" hcca in his cadillac and it metered 139db.. he dropped in a dd9510 and metered 144.5db.all the setting were the same for both subs.if you want to get loud get a dd sub. if you want a sub that you can easily rebuild yourself get the hcca
@SonicElectronixTV it is because i turning 18 and i want a good subwoofers t my car, i am kinda new on this subject and dont now what is the best on the marked, i just want subwoofer that i can afford and playes a good quality. some other subwoofers that i looked into was the west coast custom subwoofer some says that orion makes them is it true? and are the subwoofers from west coast customes good
@friked orion hcca is $300 + on its own. then youll need a custom box and maybe a $300 amp. probably extra batteries.(also dynomat) if its your first sub,id suggest a 300-400 rms subwoofer with amp that can push it to max. thats plenty bass.i like kicker subs. also theres a lot of good reviews on the hiphonics line of amps.(for good price too) orion is for peps who dont want to exhale.also got bank =D
are these subwoofers good? i am loking for some subwoofers from rockford, jl west coast custom and these orion. i just want so know if these subwoofers are good
@friked They good if you are looking for extreme bass. The Orions are no joke and are considered competition woofers for a reason. They hit extremely hard and sound amazing. If you want more quality than you do bass look into the Rockford P3 or the JL Audio W3 or even W6. Those subwoofers will be better at SQ than the Orion subs. Its all about preference find out what you really want and then go with that.
@318spen If you are going to go with the A18001DJ then I recommend going with the HCCA152 so you can wire the subwoofer to a final impedance of 1 ohm. The Audiobahn amplifier will not give you the complete 2500W RMS that it is stating because it is over-rated. You will be underpowering the subwoofer and not playing it to its full potential but you technically could use the A18001DJ to run 1 15" HCCA152 subwoofer.
@SonicElectronixTV I have that amp currently running two Alpine Type R 12's. If I purchased another of the same amp what would be a good speaker to run 1 speaker per amp(keeping a nice budget)?
@318spen I would say the RE Audio SXX12D4, Alpine SWX-1243D, Rockford Fosgate T2D412, Jl Audio 12W6v2-D4, or the Image Dynamics IDMAX12 V.3 D4. Any of these subwoofers would be great to run at a final impedance of 2 ohms or you can get the Dual 2 ohm version of the subs and run the to a final 1 ohm impedance. I would more recommned upgrading your amplifiers, the Type-R subwoofers are great and probably not getting enough power to run at full capacity.
@Rednation323 The Kicker ZX2500.1 would be a fantastic amplifier to power your HCCA154. The amplifier is rated for 2500 watts RMS which is more then enough to power up that sub. It won't be bad for the woofer because the wattage ratings and the impedance will match each other.
This sub is almost undestructible. A guy used a Soundstream XXX15000D amp to power 2 12" Hcca's and blew the amp first before he could of blown the subs.. But the subs still live!! These badasses can really hit hard and sound great at the same time.
well obviously u dont know what ur tlking about either becuase i happen to own a 15 hcca and it would shit on anything u have so stop tlkin shit if u have nothin to back it up
@acer1234acer If you run the amp at 1 ohm it will still under power one 12" HCCA but it will provide enough power to run the subwoofer safely. Just don't run more than 1 HCAA on that amp, that would be bad. Also make sure you have the Dual 2 Ohm version of the subwoofer so you can properly wire it down to 1 ohm final impedance.
@acer1234acer Your amplifier will run at full potential all the time, so it will heat up much quicker and if it does not have good heatsinks it will shut down more frequently. Like I said before the amplifier will work and will power the subwoofer but it will under power the subwoofer and run pretty hot most of the times.
@acer1234acer Any amplifier can power a subwoofer. These woofers can handle 2000rms. If you're giving it 1700 you'll be good. You won't hear the difference
i have a question i have a dodge charger and i want to buy new subwoofers y want your opinion what is better between orion 15"s or kicker L7 15 i just want to buy one for now and what AMP i better for these i want a brutus hifonics 1200 wats i think need your opinion thanks good video...
@05Narco They'll both be pretty loud setups, but it depends on how much money you're interested in spending on an ampifier. The Orion HCCA 15" will require a much larger amplifier to power, making it a louder subwoofer. It just depends on how much money you're willing to spend for the extra bass.
@Streetracingmachine they sound great i think its safe to say im the only one in north dakota with one lol they are 90 pounds and hurt when you drop them on your finger putting them in a box lol
hah lol i like the kicker sign in the background i got two 12" orions the hp series in a ported box and they fucking slam.I thought kicker went hard cuz i had a 15" kicker solo X in a ported box befor i got the orinos subwoofers but the kicker blew on me. I had enough power running , a Kenwood excelon KAC-X621 amp 1200 watts power. I have a 150 amp fuse with 0 gauge for the power and also my ground is 0 gauge.I did the big three upgrade and i still don't know why i blew that kicker? orions ^
how strong would subs be if they used a 6" coil and Neodymium that super strong earth magnet ive heard so much about instead of the magnet they use now?
@hondaATV250 You'll definitely want to upgrade the alternator as soon as you can. Amplifiers that require around 2000W of RMS power or more are usually really demanding on your alternator. If you double that then you'll need to get a pretty beefy alternator when you upgrade. Adding another battery never hurts as it's the best way to build your electrical reserve on those demanding deep lows. You're on the right path, just make those upgrades and you'll be good to go!
@skater0313 You can use a lot of different RCA's, but for some decent quality go with Tsunami, Stinger, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, JL Audio, Streetwires, or Monster Cable. You can't wrong with any of those amp kits quality, so each of those brands will definitely be sufficient.
@skater0313 Due to the high amount of watts that two HCCA subs would require from your amplifiers and batteries, you would need a 0 Gauge amplifier kit. The PKD1 by Kicker is a 0 Gauge Dual Amplifier Kit that would be perfect for setting up two amplifiers. You will need to purchase RCA Interconnect Cables as well since the kit does not include them. With that amp kit you will be able to properly set up two amps with the correct gauge wire to ensure that your system is running safely.
@SonicElectronixTV i have 2 hcca orion 15s im going to get a super exteme battery, a boss cap10 capacitor, 0 gage cables for the amp, and ive heard good things about the earthquake phd5000 is this a good setup or is there anything you would recomend?
@skater0313 you should sell your stuff and buy some sony shit because you dont know shit. those amps are gonna do like 1800 watts these hccas will take 4-5k clean power daily
Ok thanks but what about batteries and wire and speakers should I go with my 2 Orion hcca 15.2 I have a ford explore 1998 and some one told me that u can run ma audio hk 4000watt amp for 2 Orion 15s is that true.
@skater0313 Since you are going to be pushing over 4000 watts with two HCCA subs, we suggest you go with two KHC2400 Kinetik High Current Power Cells. You will also need to look into upgrading your vehicle's alternator, to make sure it can handle the stress of your system. The MA Audio HK 4000D is rated at 4000 watts @ 2Ohms. However please keep in mind that this amp is highly overrated and thus will mostly likely not give you the correct amount of power you would need for two HCCA subwoofers.
Hi, I am on the Sonic sit at the moment. Last week I purchased two (2) of the Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdCP amp. These amps have the same watts output on a 1ohm impedance as well as 2ohm impedance. I want to use my two amps using the bd-Sync2 cable to that having 5000rms amp, which will give me @ 6,000rms being that they are RF amps and they are exrtremly under rated.
Would it better for me to use two (2) 15.2 or (2) 15.4?
@fonsolewis1 Since the amps have the same output at 2 ohms and at 1 ohm, it's more efficient to have a final impedance of 2 ohms, so go with the 15.2's, so you can wire them in series parallel to get a final impedance of 2 ohms. This way your amplifier won't be working as hard to achieve similar power outputs. When you can, always go for the higher impedance as it's less stress on your audio equipment.
@stonedrollin95 At this current moment we have a single HCCA 12" subwoofer at the price of $549.95. This price is for either a Dual 2 Ohm or Dual 4 Ohm version. Please keep in mind that prices are always subject to change. For this reason we highly recommend that you visit our website give us a call at (1877) 289-7664 for up to date pricing on any item.
@skater0313 Actually, Since the HCCA 15" subs are capable of handling 2000W RMS each, you will want to get one individual amp for each sub. With one Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D to each sub, you can output 2100W RMS at 1ohm and thus safely powering up those HCCA 15" subs. For this to work you will need to have two of the HCCA152 , this will allow you to wire each sub in Parallel giving you a final 1ohm impedance.
@SwatbotDubstep They're both great designs to consider. A ported enclosure might get you better overall bass output, while a sealed enclosure will help with overall bass response. Sealed enclosures will also require more power to perform similarly with a ported enclosure, so if you're low on power consider a ported enclosure.
what do you recomend i have ford f150 1999 truck should i get 2 orion hcca 10.2 or 2 jl audio w7.Can you tell me what i need to buy to hook up the subwoofers thank you
@BackDoorPickleTic They both perform amazingly but for different applications. Two 10" HCCA subs will handle 3000W RMS, giving you a tremendous amount of bass. While two 10' W7 subs will handle1500W RMS, only half of what the HCCA sub can handle. W7s are clean subs, they will hit hard and more importantly will hit with a better response rate creating a much tighter bass. HCCA subs are more competition based, so sound quality is not important. Where as W7 subs are more focused on sound quality
@twista93256 its all about the amp if youre amp can take it youre fine:Dlike most amps cant take 1 ohm ....if u run subs on 4ohms its better cuz the sound quallaty is better but then u need a amp with some power... but i didnt quite understand the question :(
@twista93256 Thesten answered perfectly. It's all about matching up amplifiers and subwoofers. If you've chosen an amplifier that is 1 ohm stable, then you'll want to go with the 4 ohm model. If you have an amp that isn't 1 ohm stable, and pushes it's power at 2 ohms, then you'll want to go with the 2 ohm models. If you plan on using 2 amplifiers, this changes everything. Check out our subwoofer wiring diagram on our website, found in the knowledge base. We'll send you a message.
@SonicElectronixTV Hello, loyal customer here. This year I want to go big with bass. I currently have a kicker mono 2500.1 amp. And an 04 model 10in solo x 2ohm sub. Will this Orion be better, or louder? and which version would be a perfect match far as size? I'm looking for just 1 subwoofer to match the amp. And any suggestions on the current setup. I wish it was a dual 4 Ohm version, it would be a better match with my amp. Any suggestions? and can i call for suggestions?
@stevelovesgod At first I was wondering why you would want to switch from the Solo X. It makes sense that you're running at 4 Ohms and not getting the optimal bass response. Running a 10" or 12" HCCA at 2 ohms will definitely get you better bass response. In retrospect though, the 10" or 12" Solo X at a final impedance of 2 ohms will really get you some awesome bass response.
It's a tough comparison to make, and switching will be an expensive upgrade. Good luck with your final decision!
@skater0313 If you're going with two Orion HCCA 15" subwoofers you will want to consider using the Dual 4 Ohm model so you can wire them to a final impedance of 1 Ohm. In this case you can use the MTX TE4001D.
Using one amplifier for two 15" HCCA's is pretty tough, as not many amplifiers are capable of 3800-4000 watts of RMS power. If you use two amplifiers use the 15.2 model and use two Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D amps.
Use 0 gauge wire for power, and use 10 gauge speaker wire.
@moochy101 Well they're both great subwoofers for different styles of applications. If you're looking for a sub that can handle huge amounts of power, and therefore output a ton of bass then you'll want to go with the Orion HCCA. If you go with the Kicker L7 then you'll get less output, but you won't need as large of an amplifier to drive it. It will output some great bas too, but not as much as the Orion HCCA. It all depends on how loud you want to be.
@playboydaking225 You're not going to see a huge difference between the two subs. The main difference is their cosmetic appearance of their cone, and the new surround material used. They're both made to handle extremely high amounts of power so the different surround material won't make a huge difference, other than for durability.
@SonicElectronixTV The Orion Test is not fair, because the MTX, RF, and JL audio W-7 RMS watts are much less than the ORION HCCA. Can ya'll, Sonic Electronix do another one of these test using the updated models with similar voice coils, and impedance levels, with similar RMS watts? That will be great! P.S.,
I love this company. I have a 12 in L-7, i guess 1 of the voice coil is burned out. is there any way it can be fixed? p.s. I did not buy it from ya'll. What can be done?
@stevelovesgod We're considering to test popular SPL woofers as a video, but we haven't been able to confirm it yet. Your best bet for replacing that Kicker L7 would be to contact Kicker directly. If you purchased it from an authorized retailer like ourselves than you can get service within 1 year. If you didn't purchase it from an authorized retailer you can most likely pay for warranty service. Kicker stands behind their L7's and will usually be more than happy to get you a replacement.
Yeah i bought a set of orion hcca 10s and 12s from you guys. And now one of the 10s has busted due to a manufacture defect, and now I cant even order the recone kit from your company. When I bought the subs your compan, I was promised the recone kit would fix all but it seems yall have yanked it away, Now im stuck with a 400$ paper weight because of your company. Yeah thx for that. Now what can yall do to help solve this dilemma? Or will your company leave me totally SCREWED?
@ImSoThrowed1 Sorry to hear that your HCCA had blown. You must have been one of the lucky few to pick them up from us as the HCCA's come through very rarely and are tough to obtain due to their high demand. Their recone kits come through periodically, and if you'd like assistance in getting an ETA for them, please give us a call at 1-877-289-7664 at any time and we'll be more than happy to help update you of their status.
@AAaudio710 On most competition style subwoofers you can use 10 gauge speaker wire. Make sure it's a good true to gauge 10 gauge speaker wire since you're going to want to allow the subwoofer to get to it's fully capacity. In some competitions you see 8 gauge wire stuffed in the terminals, so I'm quite sure it can take 8 gauge as well but I can't guarantee that.
@tram7128 That matchup has good potential of working. I'm not sure of the Planet Audio's exact RMS specification, or at what impedance you plan on driving them at though so I can't recommend the setup. Now, keep in mind that Planet Audio is slightly over-rated so if it's RMS power is 950 watts, then it's probably pushing more close to 600-750 watts of RMS power, which would make it slightly underpower your subwoofers.
@tram7128 With that amplifier you'll be lucky to have your subs see 200 watts. Planet Audio over-rates their amplifiers and their RMS power is a little exaggerated. You're going to want to go with a bigger amplifier that can output 800 watts of RMS power.
@tram7128 There's a lot of awesome 2000 watt amplifiers on the market in a lot of different price ranges. If you're looking purely for power, you can run an HFi2000D at 1 Ohm to achieve around 2000 watts of RMS power. That amplifier would be the best cost efficient option. If you're looking for something a little more stable, or you want to run your setup at 2 Ohms you should go with the Alpine MRP-M2000. Finally, another great 1 Ohm amp would be the Massive Audio N4. Good luck !
Question: I have a Zapco z600 and I want to if the Hcca 15 give me extremely low bass that is loud I want to flip a quarter off the concrete. Will this sub give me the results I am looking for?

@xHockeyPlaya99 The hcca is much louder than the 13w7. The sensitivity of a subwoofer can not be use to compare what sub is louder, they are other factors involved the hcca is a subwoofer that can be compared with a smd sub or digital designs just so you can have an idea how powerful this subwoofers is.

@txhen1 You would be safe giving them about 2000-2500 watts RMS. Just remember to adjust your gain accordingly if you overpower them by more then this.

i have a question, would a Power acoustik BAMF 5500 push a 15'' HCCA w/o damaging either the sub or amp im looking for a amp tht will push the sub well for a low price
PDArep09 2 months ago
@PDArep09 This would not be a good amplifier to run with this subwoofer. Power Acoustik Amplifiers are not CEA compiant so their power ratings are going to be exaggerated. We would recommend going with a Hifonics Brutus BRZ2400.1D. It is around the same price as the BAMF but has CEA compliant power ratings and is overall better quality.

samskater101 4 months ago in playlist samskater101's favorites
@samskater101 I would say get the Dual 2 ohm version of the woofers and wired each one to its own amp. Go with two Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D amplifiers. You will 0 gauge power and ground wire, custom enclosures for each woofer, and some external batteries to push the woofers successfully. These woofers are no joke and require some serious components to get them running properly.
SonicElectronixTV 4 months ago
@SonicElectronixTV would this not blow the sub up. even if you tried to get them both the same, even if you used the same amp on parallel channels
vikkiandbradley07 4 months ago
@vikkiandbradley07 If you get a strong enough amp for each woofer and wire it correctly then no it won't blow the subwoofer. Honestly not many amplifiers out there that can blow an HCCA sub, those things are 2000 watts RMS. Finding an amp that can power both subs at the same time is going to be difficult, and you definitely don;t want to underpower them by too much. I mean you can give each woofer 1500W RMS and be actually you can probably do 1300W and still be ok but will be under performing.

friked 5 months ago
@friked orion hcca is $300 + on its own. then youll need a custom box and maybe a $300 amp. probably extra batteries.(also dynomat) if its your first sub,id suggest a 300-400 rms subwoofer with amp that can push it to max. thats plenty bass.i like kicker subs. also theres a lot of good reviews on the hiphonics line of amps.(for good price too) orion is for peps who dont want to exhale.also got bank =D

friked 5 months ago
@friked They good if you are looking for extreme bass. The Orions are no joke and are considered competition woofers for a reason. They hit extremely hard and sound amazing. If you want more quality than you do bass look into the Rockford P3 or the JL Audio W3 or even W6. Those subwoofers will be better at SQ than the Orion subs. Its all about preference find out what you really want and then go with that.

Would a Audiobahn A18001DJ power 1 15" HCCA?
318spen 6 months ago
@318spen If you are going to go with the A18001DJ then I recommend going with the HCCA152 so you can wire the subwoofer to a final impedance of 1 ohm. The Audiobahn amplifier will not give you the complete 2500W RMS that it is stating because it is over-rated. You will be underpowering the subwoofer and not playing it to its full potential but you technically could use the A18001DJ to run 1 15" HCCA152 subwoofer.
SonicElectronixTV 6 months ago
@SonicElectronixTV I have that amp currently running two Alpine Type R 12's. If I purchased another of the same amp what would be a good speaker to run 1 speaker per amp(keeping a nice budget)?
318spen 6 months ago
@318spen I would say the RE Audio SXX12D4, Alpine SWX-1243D, Rockford Fosgate T2D412, Jl Audio 12W6v2-D4, or the Image Dynamics IDMAX12 V.3 D4. Any of these subwoofers would be great to run at a final impedance of 2 ohms or you can get the Dual 2 ohm version of the subs and run the to a final 1 ohm impedance. I would more recommned upgrading your amplifiers, the Type-R subwoofers are great and probably not getting enough power to run at full capacity.

Rednation323 6 months ago
@Rednation323 The Kicker ZX2500.1 would be a fantastic amplifier to power your HCCA154. The amplifier is rated for 2500 watts RMS which is more then enough to power up that sub. It won't be bad for the woofer because the wattage ratings and the impedance will match each other.
SonicElectronixTV 6 months ago

would a soundstream dtr1700.1 have enough power to power 1 hcca 12.2??????
acer1234acer 7 months ago
@acer1234acer If you run the amp at 1 ohm it will still under power one 12" HCCA but it will provide enough power to run the subwoofer safely. Just don't run more than 1 HCAA on that amp, that would be bad. Also make sure you have the Dual 2 Ohm version of the subwoofer so you can properly wire it down to 1 ohm final impedance.
SonicElectronixTV 7 months ago
@SonicElectronixTV would my amp be ok bc it got to work harder to power 1 hcca12.2
acer1234acer 7 months ago
@acer1234acer Your amplifier will run at full potential all the time, so it will heat up much quicker and if it does not have good heatsinks it will shut down more frequently. Like I said before the amplifier will work and will power the subwoofer but it will under power the subwoofer and run pretty hot most of the times.
SonicElectronixTV 7 months ago
@acer1234acer Any amplifier can power a subwoofer. These woofers can handle 2000rms. If you're giving it 1700 you'll be good. You won't hear the difference

@05Narco They'll both be pretty loud setups, but it depends on how much money you're interested in spending on an ampifier. The Orion HCCA 15" will require a much larger amplifier to power, making it a louder subwoofer. It just depends on how much money you're willing to spend for the extra bass.

how strong would subs be if they used a 6" coil and Neodymium that super strong earth magnet ive heard so much about instead of the magnet they use now?
tracemaster100 10 months ago
@hondaATV250 You'll definitely want to upgrade the alternator as soon as you can. Amplifiers that require around 2000W of RMS power or more are usually really demanding on your alternator. If you double that then you'll need to get a pretty beefy alternator when you upgrade. Adding another battery never hurts as it's the best way to build your electrical reserve on those demanding deep lows. You're on the right path, just make those upgrades and you'll be good to go!

skater0313 11 months ago
@skater0313 You can use a lot of different RCA's, but for some decent quality go with Tsunami, Stinger, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, JL Audio, Streetwires, or Monster Cable. You can't wrong with any of those amp kits quality, so each of those brands will definitely be sufficient.
SonicElectronixTV 11 months ago
Ok let's say u have 2 subs do u have to get 2 more wires and two more
Ground wires? And what amp kit with watts that can handle 2 orion hcca 15.2s and 2 brz2100 watt amps. Should I get 0 gage
skater0313 11 months ago
@skater0313 Due to the high amount of watts that two HCCA subs would require from your amplifiers and batteries, you would need a 0 Gauge amplifier kit. The PKD1 by Kicker is a 0 Gauge Dual Amplifier Kit that would be perfect for setting up two amplifiers. You will need to purchase RCA Interconnect Cables as well since the kit does not include them. With that amp kit you will be able to properly set up two amps with the correct gauge wire to ensure that your system is running safely.

Ok thanks but what about batteries and wire and speakers should I go with my 2 Orion hcca 15.2 I have a ford explore 1998 and some one told me that u can run ma audio hk 4000watt amp for 2 Orion 15s is that true.
skater0313 11 months ago
@skater0313 Since you are going to be pushing over 4000 watts with two HCCA subs, we suggest you go with two KHC2400 Kinetik High Current Power Cells. You will also need to look into upgrading your vehicle's alternator, to make sure it can handle the stress of your system. The MA Audio HK 4000D is rated at 4000 watts @ 2Ohms. However please keep in mind that this amp is highly overrated and thus will mostly likely not give you the correct amount of power you would need for two HCCA subwoofers.
SonicElectronixTV 11 months ago
Hi, I am on the Sonic sit at the moment. Last week I purchased two (2) of the Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdCP amp. These amps have the same watts output on a 1ohm impedance as well as 2ohm impedance. I want to use my two amps using the bd-Sync2 cable to that having 5000rms amp, which will give me @ 6,000rms being that they are RF amps and they are exrtremly under rated.
Would it better for me to use two (2) 15.2 or (2) 15.4?
fonsolewis1 11 months ago
@fonsolewis1 Since the amps have the same output at 2 ohms and at 1 ohm, it's more efficient to have a final impedance of 2 ohms, so go with the 15.2's, so you can wire them in series parallel to get a final impedance of 2 ohms. This way your amplifier won't be working as hard to achieve similar power outputs. When you can, always go for the higher impedance as it's less stress on your audio equipment.

stonedrollin95 11 months ago

SonicElectronixTV 11 months ago
What about 2 15.2 what amp should I go with
skater0313 11 months ago
@skater0313 Actually, Since the HCCA 15" subs are capable of handling 2000W RMS each, you will want to get one individual amp for each sub. With one Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D to each sub, you can output 2100W RMS at 1ohm and thus safely powering up those HCCA 15" subs. For this to work you will need to have two of the HCCA152 , this will allow you to wire each sub in Parallel giving you a final 1ohm impedance.

@SonicElectronixTV Thanks alot, I am also thinking of a pair and this is some good info. What kind of box would you recommend? Sealed or ported?
SwatbotDubstep 11 months ago
@SwatbotDubstep They're both great designs to consider. A ported enclosure might get you better overall bass output, while a sealed enclosure will help with overall bass response. Sealed enclosures will also require more power to perform similarly with a ported enclosure, so if you're low on power consider a ported enclosure.

SonicElectronixTV
BackDoorPickleTic 1 year ago
what is better this or jl w7
BackDoorPickleTic 1 year ago
@BackDoorPickleTic They both perform amazingly but for different applications. Two 10" HCCA subs will handle 3000W RMS, giving you a tremendous amount of bass. While two 10' W7 subs will handle1500W RMS, only half of what the HCCA sub can handle. W7s are clean subs, they will hit hard and more importantly will hit with a better response rate creating a much tighter bass. HCCA subs are more competition based, so sound quality is not important. Where as W7 subs are more focused on sound quality

thesten99 1 year ago

Any suggestions? and can i call for suggestions?
stevelovesgod 1 year ago
@stevelovesgod At first I was wondering why you would want to switch from the Solo X. It makes sense that you're running at 4 Ohms and not getting the optimal bass response. Running a 10" or 12" HCCA at 2 ohms will definitely get you better bass response. In retrospect though, the 10" or 12" Solo X at a final impedance of 2 ohms will really get you some awesome bass response.
It's a tough comparison to make, and switching will be an expensive upgrade. Good luck with your final decision!

I'm going to get 2 Orion hcca 15.2 what amp should I get and what Gage wire should I go with
skater0313 1 year ago

It all depends on how loud you want to be.

playboydaking225 1 year ago
@playboydaking225 You're not going to see a huge difference between the two subs. The main difference is their cosmetic appearance of their cone, and the new surround material used. They're both made to handle extremely high amounts of power so the different surround material won't make a huge difference, other than for durability.
SonicElectronixTV 1 year ago
@SonicElectronixTV The Orion Test is not fair, because the MTX, RF, and JL audio W-7 RMS watts are much less than the ORION HCCA. Can ya'll, Sonic Electronix do another one of these test using the updated models with similar voice coils, and impedance levels, with similar RMS watts? That will be great! P.S.,
I love this company. I have a 12 in L-7, i guess 1 of the voice coil is burned out. is there any way it can be fixed? p.s. I did not buy it from ya'll. What can be done?
stevelovesgod 1 year ago
@stevelovesgod We're considering to test popular SPL woofers as a video, but we haven't been able to confirm it yet. Your best bet for replacing that Kicker L7 would be to contact Kicker directly. If you purchased it from an authorized retailer like ourselves than you can get service within 1 year. If you didn't purchase it from an authorized retailer you can most likely pay for warranty service. Kicker stands behind their L7's and will usually be more than happy to get you a replacement.

what gauge is the speaker wire terminals
AAaudio710 1 year ago
@AAaudio710 On most competition style subwoofers you can use 10 gauge speaker wire. Make sure it's a good true to gauge 10 gauge speaker wire since you're going to want to allow the subwoofer to get to it's fully capacity. In some competitions you see 8 gauge wire stuffed in the terminals, so I'm quite sure it can take 8 gauge as well but I can't guarantee that.

how bout 2 12" kenwoods... 1200 watts max 400 rms

tram7128 1 year ago
@tram7128 That matchup has good potential of working. I'm not sure of the Planet Audio's exact RMS specification, or at what impedance you plan on driving them at though so I can't recommend the setup. Now, keep in mind that Planet Audio is slightly over-rated so if it's RMS power is 950 watts, then it's probably pushing more close to 600-750 watts of RMS power, which would make it slightly underpower your subwoofers.

RMS Power (1 Ohm) 650W X 1
RMS Power (2 Ohms) 450W X 1
RMS Power (4 Ohms) 250W X 1
and if im runnin both this subs at 2 ohms....is each sub getting 450rms? or 225rms??

Good luck !
