@rugersix put 200 rnds through it as advised, not promblems at all. it recoils like my full sized glock, sooo nice. i even tried shootin one handed with a limp grip. very fine pistol, i need to get that stainless guide rod. the stock one painted black didnt make a whole lotta sense to me.
I have a question for you. I thought that Kahr pistols had the same trigger pull every time, but at 3:30 you mention that the first pull is long, but the ones there after are shorter? Is this only on the K9? Thanks.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams I think it's due to the striker block fire system....I read it somewhere a long time ago. You are not the 1st to ask so I may have to double check but seems it was a review I read. Not sure about other pistols with this type of firing mechanism.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams I can help I hope. Alot of pistols have the first trigger pull as a double action with all followup shots shot as single action. Usually however, that system is found on autos that come with a hammer and decocker (Baretta, Sig Sauer, Heckler and Koch). This pistol is the only one that I've seen that has the DA/SA system built into a striker fire system, I suppose it's unique to this pistol. It's that way so you don't have to have a safety or decocker.
@chaosmagusgod Thanks one of my earlier vids for sure...it's crazy how the price has gone through the roof on these!!! All the more reason to hang on to mine for sure! Thanks for watching and congrats on your new purchase you will love it!
@rugersix yep very sweet i must have one it shoots so nice and it points naturaly i hit a poweraid bottle from 30 feet away without trying it just feels natural theres avideo of my shooting it on my channel
@rugersix yeah double stack mags are sooooo over rated, moron. i hate when people who have never had to use a gun in real life try to make little comments like they know wtf they r talking about
@arkangel8419 If you need more then 8 shots that's a good excuse to spend more time at the range. You could just carry two mags, but having a single stack helps concealability and it doesn't print as much. Also makes the gun lighter lol.
@TheFirearmEnthusiast yeah so by your logic why stop at 8 ??? huh spend a little more timer at the range and carry 5 ...your a fucking dumbass that doesnt know shit about firearms.....................
@arkangel8419 I can't help it if you can't hit what you're aiming at with 8 shots you stupid bitch. People do carry 5 round guns cocksmoker, ever heard of the S&W 642? Many people carry that revolver, but I wouldn't expect a scumbag moron such as yourself to know this.

@rugersix It turned out to be a K9 after all. LoL. I snapped it up anyway, cause I actually perfer the K9 over the MK9. My new used K9 has been outstanding. Your field stripping video and reassemble video really helped me out. Thanks again.
@mrkarlpants Thanks. It's not banged up, it looks to be only lightly used. I'm going to buy it tomorrow morning. It also comes with an extra mag w/ extension plate, the original hard case and owners manual. Sound like it's the whole package for a good price.
Thanks for this video i am Writing a spy novel and i could not decide what gun to use for my spy. After this video this is a perfect gun for him thats alot.
@bigdaddyitalia22 Well I have shot the PM9 not the others I have not! I can tell you I love the K9 and PM9...but if you plan on putting a lot of rounds down range with a PM9 expect the grip to start eating at you hands from recoil. Not a target shooter for sure but a great CCW option!
Rugersix, You say at about the 3:30 mark that the first trigger pull is longer than subsequent pulls. Aren't they all the same from first to last? Can you explain why you said this please.
Great gun, the K9, I've had an early model made in '96, made with carbon steel and now have a '08 all stainless with an Elite trigger. My favorites are athe larger T series though, the T9 and TP9. Wonderful range guns.
@heiber Wake up! =] watch again! I said this gun will fire if the mag is out and you PULL the trigger! In other words it does not have a safety mag disconnect like some handguns! So if one is in the pipe and the mag is out of the gun and you PULL the trigger it will fire the round! Hope that clears it up for you! =]
@xxBleedxxLikexxMexx Thanks! I love Kahr Arms I think they will do much better than MRI! Perhaps they might continue with the Jericho line and be the new importer?
@rugersix actually that is one of the rumors that was floating around on the gun forums. Many are speculating they will indeed become the new importer.
@lazer70 I don't know what degree the angle is, but rest assured it is nothing like Glock...thank God! =) It's more in line w/a 1911 but the ergonomics are different...fit's the hand very nicely! =) Thanks for watching!
@rugersix I purchased this gun for my wife to cc and she shoots it very well. Holsters are a tab difficult to find for it but they are out there. I've put about 300 rounds thru it and there has been only one malfunction (fail to eject) which was easily fixed. I also appreciate the fact that they recommend shooting several hundred rounds thru it to break it in. I've got bear paws for hands and it actually fits pretty darn good. Good video
@quityourfuckincryin It's a great handgun for a women! I purchased a nice paddle style leather galco w/the gun...but its outside the pants. I recently purchased a cordora type for IWB CCW.
@rugersix I also purchased this for myself and fiancee last week. I got the 98-elite model used w/ the night sights - i love this gun. I just ordered a Kholster for it and he is modifying it to accommodate the CT grips I have on it. Thanks for the review!
lol... I got a cw40.... it's got some kick . I sanded the back strapping on the side some, to make it not so hard on my hand. I got to get use to the the trigger... I like my S&w m&p trigger better.
no it will not fire, there is a firing pin block in the K9 similar to the glock. only pulling the trigger will make the K9 fire. it is a very safe gun to carry .
I woudl love to get one of these guns. It's small and I'm sire it's lighter than my Sig Sauer SP2022. Love that gun but it's just too much gun for the neighborhood I live in. The Kahr is small, holds enough rounds and more comfortable to wear around town. I am going to look into these pistols more now. Thanks for the great review.
hey man, i love the videos they are great, i am currently considering buying either a kahr k9 or a s&w 908 would you mind telling me how the k9's accuracy compares to other guns you have shot?
Well I found for me the biggest thing was getting past the DAO trigger pull...once I got use to it...my accuracy improved. The first trigger pull is a long one and then the the follow up pulls are shorter. Also I have different sights on mine the three dot night sights. I need to get this out and do some shooting again! =]
make a video if u do!!! by the way, a lot of people must be buying kahr's. I have been trying to buy a stainless K9 for my g/f, and the gun stores I went to who are Kahr dealers. They checked with Kahr to order one, and they had none available. o_O
There is no way a S&W Sigma (yuck!) could ever be described as a premium gun... and I love S&W firearms! The K9 is a bit heavy, but it is ment to to be fired and it does that extremely well. Kahr industries also has one of the best customer service reputations in the biz, though you may not ever need it with a K9/K40. Sure you pay a higher price for a Kahr, but you also pay more for SIG, most well made 1911s, H&K, and the nicer S&Ws... you get what you pay for.
people see it as a cheap knock off of a Glock. But in a way, it really is. Glock sued S&W for patent infringement. The 1st gen sigmas were so much like Glocks that it was reported you could put a Glock 19 slide on the Sigma frame, and it would function. Also people don't like it for the trigger pull. It is generally a 12 pound pull.
There seems to be quite a few "mall ninjas" making comments out of ignorance. First, the K9 is not a service pistol, designed to hold 15 rounds and ride in an open holster. It's primary role is that of concealment and 7+1 is more than adequate to do the job especially in 9mm. Kahr firearms are premium guns and are not prone to jamming. Sure the early polymer framed models had some trouble early on, but even that seems to be a thing of the past.
Rugersix great videos! But what I really wanted to say was I do not understand why this gun is $600!. I meen arnt there a lot of better deals out there. I just got a smith&wesson sigma sw9ve for $300NEW, it holds 16+1 where khar can only hold 7 or so. also take down on the khar is alot more work than it is on the S&W you dont need tools. also the s&w is lighter. and also on the khar you have to drop the mag. to release the slide. Is it just me or is the Kahr not the best deal in the world. . . .
Well....I think it comes down to what best fits your need and your budget when shopping for a handgun!
Kahr is good quality and a very solid compact semi-auto. It doesn't have a double stack mag but if you can't do the job in seven or less than I guess one would need a gun that has 15 plus rounds! =]
It is a solid pistol but it is a bit spendy and it's really not that bad to take a part and clean once youv'e done it a few times.
i just dont understand spending double the price for a pistol when i could get somthing that holds more rounds, easer to take down, dont have to drop the mag. to release the slide, the Kahr is heavyr, and the S&W has a peep hole on the top of the slide so you can see if there is a round in the chamber. i have a review on the S&W sigma 9mm if you want to take a look. Great videos tho RugerSix love to watch them, your top choice for my gun reviews!
The reason for the price increase has to do with the quality of the gun. Sigma's are made out of polymer for one, so it's half material cost. The K9 is made out of stainless steel, including the frame, slide, barrel, and all the small parts. With the price of metal, and the time forging it, it's going to add in price. Kahr does make a polymer gun with a few MIM parts for about 400 new. It's called the CW9. Which is just an economic version of the P9 which is the polymer version of the K9.
The reason for the slide locking back and not being able to release with an empty mag is one of Kahrs features( so they say). Basically they want us Kahr people to put the mag in and use the slide release to chamber the first round that way. It is an interesting deal and when I got my first Kahr and read the manual I was shocked. They are all that way, it just takes a little getting use to. THESE ARE FANTASTIC GUNS!
I read so many comments about external safety concerns. I own a Glock and I can tell you that when you NEED to draw your pistol it's nice not to have to worry about a safety, etc. The trigger pull on these weapons is soooooo long, it's not like you're accidentally bumpin' it and firin' a round. Sometimes when you're at the range it feels like that trigger pull is an inch long!
I'm not a gun owner yet, but considering getting a G26 for self-defense soon. I have a lot to learn, but I just wanted to comment on this. I agree with you, because don't most firearms these days come without manual safeties? All the pistols I've looked into lack manual safeties and are either DAO or have a decocker. If so many pistols without safeties are in use by all these cops and soldiers, wouldn't we hear about a lot of accidents if they were truly unsafe?
No not at all! It's a DAO or Double Action Only...you really have to pull the trigger through to fire the gun! I prefer that over having a safety especially in a self-defence situation no fumbling with a safety just pull it out point and shoot ...God forbid you ever have to!
You said that if there was one in the pipe and you dropped the mag that the gun would discharge. And what was the next thing you did. Check to see if it was loaded by dropping the mag. Hmmmm!
Of course there was not since I don't do reviews with loaded guns! The point I was making is if the mag is out of the gun and you have a round in the chamber it will fire! Did I not make that clear or something???? I don't understand your comment!
I think, for some reason, he thought you meant that releasing the magazine would also release the striker onto a fresh round (which doesn't make any sense). I don't think he realized that you simply meant that there's no magazine disconnect feature.
I don't have $500 at the moment. Right now I am in love with the .38 special, which looks like a more economic choice ($300-$400 for a Rossi). I haven't shot a 9 yet, but I want to. Any recommendations for a more affordable model?
If it's not in your budget go with the go revolver you cant go wrong there! Taurus might have some more reasonable prices in 9mm or you could get a SCCY Industries 9mm check out my review on that.
They are out there...just not real popular! Not sure why the NYPD uses them as a back-up! Not to mention they are a very fine pistol! Thanks for commenting! =]
Well yeah but I dont know, for some reason I just dont watch reviews on YT much. I normally just check out some forums I know. But I enjoy your vids, they are fair an honest.
Yes! I saw that movie at the theatre and enjoyed the scene where she was first learning how to use it. Good luck on your future purchse when the timing is right. =]
i'm planning on buying one when i'm a bit older. I saw you mention that you had smaller sized hands like me and did not have any problems with it so I think i'll buy it for sure.

Sorry, I'm obsessive about terminology to a fault.
And I'll assume you whenyou say it's double action, you really mean it's similair to a double action pistol.
I agree I really like these pistols. They are smaller, simplier, easier to conceal, and fit the hand better than Glocks.
Overall good job on the video.

So if one is in the pipe and the mag is out of the gun and you PULL the trigger it will fire the round! Hope that clears it up for you! =]

Hey rugersix, have you heard that Kahr arms bought Magnum Research?
xxBleedxxLikexxMexx 1 year ago
@xxBleedxxLikexxMexx NO! I didn't hear this at all! When did this go down???
rugersix 1 year ago
@rugersix About two days ago. I saw a press release about it on their website, and a few gun forums I am a part of were talking about it. O_o
xxBleedxxLikexxMexx 1 year ago
@xxBleedxxLikexxMexx Thanks! I love Kahr Arms I think they will do much better than MRI! Perhaps they might continue with the Jericho line and be the new importer?
rugersix 1 year ago
@rugersix actually that is one of the rumors that was floating around on the gun forums. Many are speculating they will indeed become the new importer.

what is the angle on the grip on that?, like a colt 45 or a glock,? please tell me.
cant shoot glock i shoot colt commander 45 or cz85b 9mm
lazer70 1 year ago
@lazer70 I don't know what degree the angle is, but rest assured it is nothing like Glock...thank God! =) It's more in line w/a 1911 but the ergonomics are different...fit's the hand very nicely! =) Thanks for watching!
rugersix 1 year ago
@melvin44mag Absolutely could not agree w/you more! It's a tight little package with a powerful punch! Thanks for watching!
rugersix 1 year ago
@rugersix I purchased this gun for my wife to cc and she shoots it very well. Holsters are a tab difficult to find for it but they are out there. I've put about 300 rounds thru it and there has been only one malfunction (fail to eject) which was easily fixed. I also appreciate the fact that they recommend shooting several hundred rounds thru it to break it in. I've got bear paws for hands and it actually fits pretty darn good. Good video
quityourfuckincryin 1 year ago
@quityourfuckincryin It's a great handgun for a women! I purchased a nice paddle style leather galco w/the gun...but its outside the pants. I recently purchased a cordora type for IWB CCW.
Thanks for watching!
rugersix 1 year ago
@rugersix I also purchased this for myself and fiancee last week. I got the 98-elite model used w/ the night sights - i love this gun. I just ordered a Kholster for it and he is modifying it to accommodate the CT grips I have on it. Thanks for the review!

I have a kahr cw45 its so sweet, picked over a glock 36. It obviously looks better but everything else convinced me, trigger pull is amazing.

rugersix 1 year ago
i mean, it looks like a good mid sized gun in your hands, but then its only about the size of a Makarov!
lobzdik 1 year ago
Yes...it's a mid-size the MK or PM9 would be the compact. Can't compare to Glock cause I'm unfamiliar w/ their numbering and sizing.
Not to mention I did like them to begin with! =)
rugersix 1 year ago
hey Kahr sizing confuses me, this K9 is the mid sized Kahr right? But it's as small as the small size (g26) Glock right?
Do they purposefully make their guns a "size" smaller than other

How is the weight of this gun at 23 ounces in regards to concealed carry?
nls8520 2 years ago
I like the all steel Kahrs, but i'd stay away from their polymer frames.. def not worth the expensive price

@NuJoiseyMAN I have shot the PM9 and It was pretty nice, except that it bites after several rounds. I hear ya though I like the all metal!!!! =]
rugersix 2 years ago
lol... I got a cw40.... it's got some kick . I sanded the back strapping on the side some, to make it not so hard on my hand. I got to get use to the the trigger... I like my S&w m&p trigger better.

Another great job RugerSix! You get 'er done without a 20-30 minute video.
19brandon66 2 years ago
Thanks for watching my friend! Did this one quite awhile ago! =]
rugersix 2 years ago
So if there is a round in the chamber and you drop the mag out of the gun it will go off? That does not sound safe!
sloppy1969 2 years ago
@sloppy1969 The only thing unsafe about it is the operator...it's only going to go off if you pull the trigger!!!
If you follow the no.1 gun safety rule there should never be a problem.
rugersix 2 years ago
no it will not fire, there is a firing pin block in the K9 similar to the glock. only pulling the trigger will make the K9 fire. it is a very safe gun to carry .

Ya know this one of those purchases I'm just glad I made!!! Fits very nicely in the hand! They are a bit on the spendy side theses days.
rugersix 2 years ago
hey man, i love the videos they are great, i am currently considering buying either a kahr k9 or a s&w 908 would you mind telling me how the k9's accuracy compares to other guns you have shot?
acotton3901 2 years ago
Well I found for me the biggest thing was getting past the DAO trigger pull...once I got use to it...my accuracy improved. The first trigger pull is a long one and then the the follow up pulls are shorter. Also I have different sights on mine the three dot night sights. I need to get this out and do some shooting again! =]
rugersix 2 years ago
make a video if u do!!! by the way, a lot of people must be buying kahr's.

Sure you pay a higher price for a Kahr, but you also pay more for SIG, most well made 1911s, H&K, and the nicer S&Ws... you get what you pay for.
petergunn1701 2 years ago
Whats bad about the S&W Sigma? Is it unreliable ?
m4ian 2 years ago
people see it as a cheap knock off of a Glock.
PeganX 2 years ago
Great Review!!!
Sure the early polymer framed models had some trouble early on, but even that seems to be a thing of the past.
petergunn1701 2 years ago
Those guns are prone to jamming. Save some money and get the compact glock instead.

Is it just me or is the Kahr not the best deal in the world. . . .
ohbucki53 2 years ago
Well....I think it comes down to what best fits your need and your budget when shopping for a handgun!
Kahr is good quality and a very solid compact semi-auto. It doesn't have a double stack mag but if you can't do the job in seven or less than I guess one would need a gun that has 15 plus rounds! =]
It is a solid pistol but it is a bit spendy and it's really not that bad to take a part and clean once youv'e done it a few times.
Noth'n wrong with "Smith" though!!! =]
Thanks for watching!
rugersix 2 years ago
i just dont understand spending double the price for a pistol when i could get somthing that holds more rounds, easer to take down, dont have to drop the mag. to release the slide, the Kahr is heavyr, and the S&W has a peep hole on the top of the slide so you can see if there is a round in the chamber. i have a review on the S&W sigma 9mm if you want to take a look. Great videos tho RugerSix love to watch them, your top choice for my gun reviews!
ohbucki53 2 years ago
I totally understand...
Looks like you've done a great job on selling yourself on a S&W Sigma!!! =]
Thanks again friend!!!!
rugersix 2 years ago

If so many pistols without safeties are in use by all these cops and soldiers, wouldn't we hear about a lot of accidents if they were truly unsafe?
metalfaust19 2 years ago
wouldent that be considerd a dandrous weapon i mean... no saifty
joedickandharry 2 years ago
No not at all! It's a DAO or Double Action Only...you really have to pull the trigger through to fire the gun! I prefer that over having a safety especially in a self-defence situation no fumbling with a safety just pull it out point and shoot ...God forbid you ever have to!

You said that if there was one in the pipe and you dropped the mag that the gun would discharge. And what was the next thing you did. Check to see if it was loaded by dropping the mag. Hmmmm!
cndefran 2 years ago
If there was one in the pipe! IF!!!!!
Of course there was not since I don't do reviews with loaded guns! The point I was making is if the mag is out of the gun and you have a round in the chamber it will fire! Did I not make that clear or something???? I don't understand your comment!
rugersix 2 years ago
I think, for some reason, he thought you meant that releasing the magazine would also release the striker onto a fresh round (which doesn't make any sense). I don't think he realized that you simply meant that there's no magazine disconnect feature.
Riflemanm16a2 2 years ago
Thanks Rifleman that was the point perhaps I should have worded it in more technical terms! =]
rugersix 2 years ago
He was referring to the fact of some other pistols won't fire if you drop the mag...This one will
He's obviously well trained with firearms-people like you are the reason there are firearm laws!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

I don't have $500 at the moment. Right now I am in love with the .38 special, which looks like a more economic choice ($300-$400 for a Rossi). I haven't shot a 9 yet, but I want to. Any recommendations for a more affordable model?
CrystalHunter1989 2 years ago
If it's not in your budget go with the go revolver you cant go wrong there! Taurus might have some more reasonable prices in 9mm or you could get a SCCY Industries 9mm check out my review on that.
