I didn't quite know what to think of this in the live version, but the more I listen to the studio version, the more I love it. I think AI producers learned their lesson with Daughtry. IMHO they will do whatever they can to see that David Cook wins. He has a much broader appeal than any of the other contestants. David Cook captures the attention of teenyboppers to grandmas, rockers to theatre goers. Not only does he have the talent to make ANY song his own but he has raw sex appeal, amazing vocal range and vocal style. And we haven't even seen all his talent. I'm waiting for the guitar solo....

Regardless who wins idol, I think that being the runner-up is actually the best prize. Both the winner and runner-up get the same amount of air time, but the runner-up can choose whatever record label they want that will allow them to be as creative as they want. On the other hand the winner is stuck with the crappy record label associated with AI, and they always force the winner to put out a crappy first CD to make a quick buck at the expense of intellectual creativity.
