You can hear the Kinks influence on the Romantics if you pick up the album 61/49. It IS their best album because that nitwit Pete Solley wasn't there to screw it up like he screwed up their sound on the early stuff.

I`ll tell you exactly what I mean ; it´s really very simple : KINKS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS SONG-that is they didnt write it and never recorded it either, it´s a song written and performed by The Romantics -this rendition aswell as " the original " what ever that means.....so NOT a Davies song and that´s what´s so annoying about seing their picture attached to it since I´m a passionate fan of The Kinks
