So Cal Hospitals are now being paid 38 cents on the dollar for MediCare, MediCaid and other public services since this Health Care Law as passed. Hospitals are making cuts across the board in order to try to stay in business. While the number of patients have increased, staff and Administrative Costs are being slashed right and left. Tell us how you really feel. LOL . But I am from US and unfortunately agree with you for the majority of the nation. Palin gets elected and I'll have to move if I dont have a stroke :) Actually people are coming around on her ignorance and it's about time.
its not so much that the republican voters are stupid, but in general the whole country of America is one big piece of ignorance, pure ignorance, thats why people love Sarah P so much.
America is doomed, its dead, its gone. I have no investment in such a dumb country.
The U.S. senate strikes me as redundant - it's my understanding that at one time, senators were mainly appointed by the states, so they could be said to represent state-government interests in an almost ambassadorial fashion, as opposed to the "popular" function of the House of Representatives.
Imagine if Howard Dean hadn't made that noise. That god damn victory noise. THAT FUCKING NOISE. One high pitched pre pubescent cry of victory from Howard Dean and the 2004 election was lost. A ball gripping scream may have ruined this country.
I don't even see why that "rebel yell" sunk Dean's campaign. I didn't give a fuck other than chuckling the first couple of times I heard it. It didn't affect my view of Dean at all. He was still my choice for the 2004 Election and I was angry when he dropped out and that loser Kerry got the nomination.
I was even angrier when I found out that Rahm Emanuel was behind that turn of events and he was chosen to be Obama's Chief of Staff. That's when I officially knew what road Obama would take.
@A86 I remember watching post-'scream analysis' on fox news in 2004 (when i still regarded them as news) and they said that the scream was a sign of insecurity and lack of experience in leadership. I even bought the whole Kerry flip flopper line without even knowing it! Even if it isn't true, fox news is a masterful propaganda machine.
It proves that most of us are stupid, not all. The sad truth is that most people in most countries are dumb America just happens to be number one in that department.
Americans are not anymore stupid than anyone else. And that's coming from a huge critic of US foreign policy. Its just your system...too hard for people with good ideas to change things and too easy to slide into warring red and blue camps and subsequently turn into raving tribalists. No two people have the same opinion about anything and yet someone thought it was a good idea to pretty much set a two party system in stone.
@A86 Howard Dean is Gen. George S. Patton for the Dems. Put him in place of R. Emanuel and he'll GLADLY Bitch Slap some CRY BABY Republicans in EITHER Houses.

Truth is, no one in the government atm is liberal they all - with few exceptions are corporatists.
All I am saying is that has been a trap for as long back as I can see. Every time a democfrat gets elected they always fail. The republicans on the other hand actually do what they say. Give to the rich and make war.

i think i knew another progressive radical with great oratory skill (although to his credit he didnt have obama's beloved teleprompter) who said that radical change that went against the will of the majority would have to be done RIGHT NOW. and his name was adolf hitler and his "progressive change" lead to the death of 6,000,000 jews in the holocaust. so anytime you hear a liberal say we need to do something immediately without thinking about it, remember the liberals caused the holocaust
tehant1liberal - odd that you jump straight to your hero, Hitler, because I remember another "progressive radical" from about the same time named Franklin Roosevelt. Seems to me he gave Hitler the blues.
Except Hitler was extreme RIGHT - not liberal or progressive. And talking about doing stuff RIGHT NOW - what did the GOP/Bush admin do for 8yrs? Damn the people and several hundred thousand people lost their lives. Looks like you're thinking of the RW - not libs.
It's already been said but it was a liberal (FDR) who fucked up the fascists of Europe while the conservatives of the time (people like Chamberlain and Sen. Taft) wanted to keep giving in to the far right Nazis. As usual it took left-wingers like Roosevelt to clean up the mess made by the right-wing.
Dont forget Grandpa Bush was and other RW dynasty families like Ford were supporters of the Nazi's and did business with the Nazis even during WWII! To this day that family is treasonous!
i feel sorry for americans. they really think their political parties make a difference. they dont know theyre all in the same boat, both dems and republicans. the dems have a majority power yet theyre not using it and their excuse is that theyre weak and not strong to take decisions. well fuck me then why did you come in office? jesse ventura said it nicely. us politics is like pro wrestling. not a real sport, just sports entertainment. thats us politics, nothing but acting.
Dam, before cenk pointed it out, Rachel Maddow using weak sauce instantly caught my eye lol. I love Maddow, she's the truth, like the only serious news commentator that does her job right.
its likely that obama never wanted health care reform, he has shown ZERO leadership on this and many other important issues after the campaign. so its no wonder that a bill he liked was nothing but a bailout for the HMOs, while the meager benefits are set to never really take effect. the mans' a fraud
You can't start benefits immediately, you simply can't. You could start it sooner than 2013/2014, I'd argue mid 2011 - early 2012 is enough time. But, if you are going to go through private insurers you have to allow them the opportunity to restructure their business model. If you impose it immediately, it will be a disaster because they need to prepare to deal with the structurally change of the system - you'll have chaos if you don't give them time to adjust.
Howard Dean is a threat, to legislators. Had the DNC kept him, legislation would pass. They keep their mouths shut, while Republicans are openly hypocritical, both taking money(bribes).
There are many ways, and excuses to avoid beneficial legislation, and both parties have their own styles. Reconciliation would work. Why is the Democratic Party not utilizing it?
The Democrats are content to be called spineless, while taking special interest money.
hey,
somebody with guts.
republicans used the filibuster, more than 100+ times,
and Obama tried to use bi-partisanship a bit too much
didn't he? he tried to go in-between too much, the republicans
filibustered many bills, like the fight for unemployment insurance, was filibustered, infrastructure and rebuilding, or jobs was filibustered also.

@tehant1liberal
Hitler was NOT a liberal, nor was he a progressive.
Hitler and the NAZI were right wing. Hell, neo-nazis in the US now are still right wing!
I'm going to assume you got this piece of special craziness from Glenn Beck. He's 1 Fox show away from standing on a corner with a tinfoil hat!

Why is Howard Dean no longer the DNC chairman? He was the only Democrat who could actually get something done.

i feel sorry for americans. they really think their political parties make a difference. they dont know theyre all in the same boat, both dems and republicans. the dems have a majority power yet theyre not using it and their excuse is that theyre weak and not strong to take decisions. well fuck me then why did you come in office? jesse ventura said it nicely. us politics is like pro wrestling. not a real sport, just sports entertainment. thats us politics, nothing but acting.

That man speaks the truth.
Howard Dean and Rachel Maddow are awesome. Definitely not weak sauce.

Fellow Tubelers,
Howard Dean is a threat, to legislators.
It be it!
