kill yourrself by the turrngait. red died in the furnace in the first game, and in doing that red escaped his torture. it seems like the only way to survive the torture of the turngait is to either oppose the linear path given to you, like red or you when you dont burn yourself, or to die... which is exactly how red managed to escape from the turnngait, probrably because they had such a strong grip on his mind from so many years of him being under their influence
it seemed to me more like death was the only escape from that place because as you progress it gets harder and harder for phillip to escape. so, after the mine and the "shelter" phillip goes insane as the turnngait probrably had a strong grip on his mind. opposing Azartusfar's theory i believe that when you exit the door you dont live with the guilt, but instead phillip sorta beats the turnngait. because you commit suicide if you burn red and you, the dying with red was just encouragement to...
Ok ok ok..... I have no-idea What this story is about!!!! Its so confusing lol! >.< Penumbra Requiem is soo confusing and it is completely random!! lol xD
Ok, so in the first game you (Phillip) get a note from your father telling you to drestroy some documents, you instead read them and find out the facility your father is working at (He left to the facility before you were born) you head out to "The Shelter" A research station in the northern part of Greenland, and you fall into a mineshaft. I's not long until you find out some strange things are going on what with insane miners and many notes lying around. You proceed deeper into the mine and.
find a complex, mostly a mining station, instead of sending miner home they had barracks and other facilities so the miners would basically live down there. You come across a survivor on a short wave radio who goes by Red, he guides you to him promising that he has answers. For the most part of the game you are trying to find Red. Once you finally get to him he's in an incinerator, and he goes on saying that he has wanted to die for so long and "they" won't let him die, "they" control parts of
oh his brain, so he begs you to flip the switch and end the pain that has been going on for so many years. You burn Red, your only friend and in his ashes you find a key to his room, in there you get a lot of back story on Red and you're able to cut the power and pry open a door into a deeper more refined facility. there you get smacked on the head and trapped in a room. You escape your room and roam the facility finding out it's a scientific outpost studying artifacts and an infection got loose
you meet a couple of the infected and spend a lot of time running and hiding. You start hearing a voice in your head and figure that you're infected, the voice is a douche and he wants you to call him Clarence. you meet a girl that talks to you over a video chat on computers, she says she's got a cure but she is trapped and needs you to come to her, she points you to a doctor named emisson (I think) Who is infected and tries to kill you. You make your way deeper into the station towards
ammabel and find your father dead in a library, he has some last words written down then you head off to get the cure, Clarence talks trash and you jump through hoops and finally meet ammabel, but she's infected. You kill her and it turns out Clarence tricked you by using your mind and eyes in his words "You see what I want you to see" and turns out she wasn't infected. you get the cure and clarence tries to get the other infected to help him kill you because he doesn't want to die.
You run a lot more, you inject the cure and clarence is dead, or so you think turns out he transferred to a infected corpse on an autopsy table and tries to kill you. You run away and the other infected kill clarence. The hive mind tells you he was too human for his own good and takes you through some tests in your mind to teach you what it is to be a "turngait" which is a sentient race not an infection much like in the Outer Limits' "Manifest Destiny" so the hive mind asks you to send a messag
warding off anyone from disrupting the turngait as The Shelter had done, and so you send the message but you get smacked on the head and taken somewhere else you run through a series of puzzles/memories and are confronted with the ghosts of your past, Ammabel, not much Clarence, Red, Emmison etc. and basically it's just trying to get out. At the end you get the choice of burning with red or living with the guilt, I am most likely mistaken but it seems it was all in your head and you had official
gone crazy, because if you choose to burn it ends back at the computer where you sent the message in the second game, but if you don't burn assumabely you just leave, and in the end live.
@Azartusfar that end bit wasn't going out 'alive'', that was the same scene from the Black Plague, before when you start hallucinating, i think if you leave, it just represents that you'll go back into your mind and it's all a circle again. At least when you die, you die, or go back to reality? Not sure which.
Red's Country voice is funny xD!

While not as good as the other games, Requiem still has its moments. Thanks for playing.

Well played. this one is definitely the weakest of all 3 games, but it was still fun to watch. Looking forward for the next game. See ya.
