  • Mount Etna on Sicily, Italy's one of the most famous volcanoes, started erupting once again this weekend. Flames and sparks have been shooting into the air, reaching a height of about 250 meters, according to witnesses.

  • IT'S CUMMING ITS CUMMING!!!!

  • u forgot the beer and beenie weenies

  • What causes the lava to be shot that high into the air?

  • @goldennugget100 all of the pressured and hot air under the volcano im guessing sorry im just a 14 yr old

  • @goldennugget100

Mt. Etna is a so called stratovolcano. That means that the magma under the surface is a pretty viscous one. Thus, the magma may be floating so slowly that it gets cooled down and solidifies inside the mountain, blocking the way. When more magma comes up and starts to press against the solidified magma, the preassure starts building up. Also, the preassure may increase even more because of the gasses inside the volcano. This is how most explosive eruptions are caused.

  • @ImGonnaShout2000 How Loud can an eruption get?

  • @goldennugget100

That would of course depend on how close to the volcano you are, and I don't have any idea. I can at least say that in Alaska in 1912, the largest volcano eruption the last 100 years took place. It was heard 466 km (750 miles) away.

  • You guys have got balls! I would have peed my pants if I were the cameraman! D:

  • I'm mesmerised by volcanoes. I'm reminded of Maurice & Katia Kraft, who'd spent their professional lives filming and photographing volcanoes; it was their life's work. Then one day their luck ran out, and they were both incinerated by a pyroclastic flow, at Japan's Mt Unzen, if I remember rightly. It's a fatal mistake to under-estimate Mother Nature.

  • Some of that was quite haunting... I was reminded of Casper David Friedrich's Wanderer above the sea of fog...

  • heeeeey, how did they get a shot of my house????

  • Here is a silly question, why would anyone want to get that close to an erupting Volcano?

  • 5:53 again, gets nuts!!!

  • 4:54 starts some extra action.

SKY?

  • Amazing. Those people should be careful, not so much for the debris falling from the sky because they can take shelter against that, but for the toxic gasses from the eruption. If the wind swings around, they will have a very hard time to escape those gasses.

  • Favoloso!

  • how long does an eruption last?

  • @mandito1900 an eruption can last for months but mount etna is active so it is always erupting just sometime only tincy amounts of lava come out

  • Still my fav Etna footage

    Tank You!!!

  • @KdEtna Si dice "Thank you"!

XD

  • @KdEtna

Scusa Kd sai dov'è possibile reperire quel documentario?

Sono rimasto Stupefatto dalla qualità del video..

  • @peppe8219

Ciao non ti so dire io assieme a molti altri di geoff mackley l'ho visto su SKY mi pare discovery channel o national geographic.

Purtroppo non so dove poterli trovare...anche io li vorrei.

  • @KdEtna

    Grazie KdEtna

    o meglio a "geoffmackley" :D

Very thank's for sharing.
